Here's the first concept for one of Oddwind's odd buildings!
Since the end of Up and Ahead I've been considering many things about my building design, which I recognise I explored very poorly in the last comic.
I'd like to create something that feels right, but at the same that, that has a strong sense of identity. In that "when I look at this house I know instantly where it's from!" kind of way.
Considering Oddwind is now placed right between the woods and the deserts, I thought it would be charming if the buildings used the trees, still planted, as a structure to build around.
The houses are kind of shaped like a silly dog house too, slightly.
Anyway, I'll post some more of these in the following days!
Concepts like this will hopefully be very useful when I get to work with a background artist to produce the comic. This will help production a LOT, since I really can't work with perspective and buildings.

What a beautifully designed building! What a great idea to incorporate the trees in the structure! I can't wait to see the rest of Oddwind :D
