I Got An Extra Six Months of Life Expectancy, And Now It’s My Time
“Good evening, everyone! The Sakura Survival event will begin later this evening! I, Harukaze Ibuki, student council president, will now explain the rules so that everyone can enjoy the event to the fullest in a fun and fair manner. So please listen quietly.”
The student council president smiled at the crowd while holding a microphone in front of the entrance of the special classes building, with some light leaking through the windows creating highlights in his hair and aura. It felt like we made eye contact, but that might have just been my imagination.
I pinned my cherry blossom badge to my chest and shouted out a hearty “ah-ha-ha” with the rest of the crowd.
Kitora stood beside me, yawning out of boredom as usual.
Around me, I could hear the voices of people who seemed to be fans of the president. There were more participants than I expected there to be for a free event. It was too dark to make out individual faces, and perhaps because of the recent encounter with Yamadori-kun, I noticed quite a few male-female pairs. Such pairs were a minority though. Most teams had three or more people.
The thought of all of these teams being our rivals made my body tense up.
“Well, I’ll start explaining right away. As soon as I give the signal, you will all enter the special building together and look for a certain thing. You are looking for this.”
The student council president snapped his fingers in a graceful motion, and the lid of a box held by the twins snapped open. Several small balls, no bigger than a ping-pong ball, burst out of the box and floated in the air.
In the dim light, the four balls, each of a different color, drifted around the president like fireballs as he continued the explanation of the event.
“Each ball has a fixed number of points: ten for blue, twenty for red, thirty for yellow, and so on. These balls will conceal themselves and it is your job to find them! The fruit of your efforts will be the total score you earn. The Student Council, led by myself, and all of the members of the Cultural Affairs Committee, will oversee the event and run the challenges. There are also some interesting challenges supervised by our secretary, who is a hardcore haunted house maniac, so in addition to the treasure hunt, there are obstacle courses, tests of courage, and a lot more!”
What!? Matsuri-senpai, you look like such a masculine boy. Who knew you had a personality like that and partook in such a hobby?
I couldn’t help but stare at Matsuri-senpai (the younger twin brother) as he puffed out his chest in pride.
“If you possess a ball for three minutes, it will disappear and be added to your score. Teams can battle over point balls as long as they don’t harm each other! Are there any questions at this point?”
I raised my hand and asked my question. I had yet to hear what the shiny golden ball was for. It shone so brightly, that it was hard to tear my eyes away from it.
“Uhh, the gold ball… What’s it for… ?”
Pushing through my awkwardness I squeezed out my question.
Anyone could tell that this ball was special, and within the context of this game, it would probably give a bonus to a team’s score, or something like that. But for some reason, I could feel that there was something more to it than that.
“Oh, I forgot to explain something important! This is a special ball. Unlike the others, there will only be three of them. If your team claims a golden ball, you’ll participate in a special challenge game. If you win the game, you will get an extra hundred points… ”
The air practically shook with excitement as the crowd listened with bated breath. Compared to the other balls, an extra hundred points gave a team an exceptional advantage, so it was only natural.
“But if you lose the game, you lose a hundred points. It’s a high-risk, high-return gamble. The contents of each game will not be disclosed here, but all three of them are different and very difficult to beat. If you don’t have confidence in your magical ability, intelligence, athleticism, and teamwork, I recommend that you don’t risk your points, even if you do find a golden ball.”
I was suddenly motivated by his provocative words. The people around me were also fixated on the shining golden ball with eyes like predators deciding what to do with their prey.
I must say that the student council president was a real force to be reckoned with when it came to boosting the morale of the students. However, if you took away his charisma, from my prior experience with him, I could only see him as a rude, jovial guy.
“That’s all for now on the rules! The finer details will all be self-evident when we start! Lastly, I would like to read a special message from the principal for the commencement of this event.”
“Headmaster!”
The crowd was stirred up to an even greater extent than before. Even Kitora, who had been standing lazily by my side, was not expecting words of encouragement from such an esteemed person. My eyes had widened in anticipation too, so I could hardly blame him.
I wondered if she held some special feelings for Sakura Survival, on account of her being such a busy person. What message would she deliver to warrant going out of her way?
“I hope you all have a great time at this wonderful event and enjoy it to the fullest. Good luck.”
“That’s it?!”
Someone voiced the thought we all shared. I too was taken aback by the simplicity, or perhaps light-heartedness, of her speech.
Once again, I was shocked by how free-spirited she was.
“Haha, well, even if it was short, that was still a fabulous pep talk. The top three teams will receive gorgeous prizes, so everyone, do your best! Then it’s time to start… ”
The president flashed us a princely smile, before snapping his fingers once more causing many floating balls to appear from the box. From there, white smoke billowed up, covering the entire entrance area of the training building, including the president’s figure.
It was a fancy, pretentious performance that made full use of magic, just as the president and headmaster both seemed to like.
Nevertheless, this was a full-scale event. My heart began to pound out of excitement. You’re not having fun unless you really let loose.
Finally, the smoke begins to fade and the doors to the training building slowly crept open.
The figure of the president had disappeared, and with a disembodied voice, he announced the start of the event in a loud voice carried by the night wind.
“The last event of the day, Sakura Survival, is about to begin!”
* * * *
“Kitora! No one has checked this classroom yet. Watch the door for now!”
“You’d better keep your eyes open and search quickly. You never know what traps they have laid.”
Kitora and I managed to reach the second floor, and I immediately headed for the music room that had caught my eye.
The room was crammed with chairs, desks, and chalkboards with staves written all over them. Without pausing to catch my ragged breath, I quickly turned on the lights and rummaged around the classroom.
I can’t believe that I’m looking for a ball right now. I sure have gotten fully invested into this game.
The first thing that happened after I stepped into the special building, the Sakura Survival grounds, was a huge net appeared and fell down on me. The team directly in front of me was all caught in this first trap. Luckily, I moved just in time to avoid being ensnared, but I found myself standing next to several trapped people who had to thrash around in the seaweed net. This set the tone for the event. Since then, I’m not sure if I have been trembling out of fear or excitement.
Next, Kitora and I entered a random classroom. We were assaulted by floating equipment, some kind of poltergeist phenomena, so we instantly ditched the classroom. As we fled down a hallway, we were chased at high speed by creepy dolls with long hair.
This non-stop horror show is probably a demonstration of high-tech magic. The event organizers probably set up levitation magic set to activate under certain conditions, or perhaps all of these events are being remotely controlled by the student council in real-time, or by concealed hidden matter manipulation magic. I didn’t have time to consider all the details while being chased.
As we ran from one trap to another, it became clear that the organizers intended to stop and sift out most of the participants on the first floor. I think less than half of the teams had reached the second floor.
I was almost thankful to Kitora for helping me stay this long.
I complained about the equipment flying around (even if it hit me, it was not an attack that could seriously injure anyone), but Kitora hid me behind his back. He also beat down all the dolls that looked like they were cursed using his wind attribute magic. All I could do was run for my life, and he said to me, “Just stay close to me, idiot!” I was so angry with him that I was beyond words. How dare he think I’m not worthy of being his partner!
“I got it! I got it! It’s blue, so it won’t give many points. But I found it, Kitora!”
Feeling an urge to prove myself, I searched the room furtively, looking in the desks and around the piano, before finally finding it.
I held up a blue ball that had been placed behind the sheet music on the piano.
I couldn’t find a ball on the first floor, since we had been too busy trying to escape, so this was the first ball we had to our name. If it was any consolation, I reassured myself that there probably weren’t many balls on the first floor to begin with. The first floor must have been specially designed to weed people out, and after passing through that floor, one could search for balls in earnest.
Unlike the first floor, where every step forward led to a trap of some sort, we had yet to encounter any obstructions since arriving on the second floor.
I’m not going to let my guard down because of this, though!
“There’s gotta be more than one in each classroom. I’ll block both doors with a small tornado, so keep searching.”
“Yes, sir!”
It’s only a matter of time before the other teams that crawled out of the ordeal below would barge into our classroom.
I put the blue ball in my pocket and looked around to see if I could spot anything else.
“Ah!”
Then, surprisingly quickly, I found another one.
Hanging high on the wall, between two portraits of musicians, I could spot a yellow ball. It was placed in plain sight, but that made it all the harder to notice.
I was so happy to have found a ball with a high score that I activated my specialty, movement magic. Manipulating the ball with my fingertips, I tried to draw it towards me…
“Wahoo!”
“Heh!”
… as it drew closer, Pochitaro suddenly appeared in mid-air and sucked the ball into his mouth.
“Why did Pochitaro… ?”
Still floating, the dog shook his fluffy fur with a “Wahhh?”
Tilting his head, how could anyone remain angry at such an adorable creature? He must have appeared through teleportation, his signature magic, but why would he come here?
As I recall, during the Cultural Festival, the teachers’ dormitories are not cleaned, so Pochitaro should have been temporarily sheltered in Kusaka-sensei’s room.
The dog must have sensed the excitement in the air and come to join in on the fun.
“Did you run away again? I’ll ignore how and why you’re here, so can I have that thing in your mouth back, please? I finally found a big one… ”
“Wah?”
“You know what? No, no, no! Come back! That’s a precious scoring item of mine! Besides, if we stay here, someone will find us, right? If you give it back to me and head back, I won’t tell Kusaka-sensei. Come on, who’s a good boy!?”
After failing in my attempts to persuade him calmly, Pochitaro suddenly changed direction in mid-sentence and flew toward the door at once, despite my attempts to stop him.
I thought he was going to hit a mini-tornado, but…
“Whoo-hoo!”
“What!?”
Just before he touched it, he activated some kind of magic and canceled the small whirling tornado. Without losing momentum, he dexterously opened the door and flew out through the gap.
Incidentally, the one who had shouted in shock wasn’t me, but the one who had been controlling the tornado just seconds prior, Kitora.
He was clearly upset because his magic had been broken by a single dog in an action as natural as breathing.
“Oh, I have to go after him!”
I had to retrieve the ball, but even more importantly, it would spell disaster if Pochitaro ran into anyone. Although I knew he could take care of himself, I felt partially responsible for finding him. I had to catch him and bring him back to Kusaka-sensei.
Left stunned for a moment by his brilliant escape, as soon as my brain caught up, I took off in a sprint to follow Pochitaro’s tracks. However, just as I left the room, I bumped into someone, literally.
“Whoa!”
“Wow, watch out!”
After a sudden impact, we both lost our balance and fell to the floor. I fell hard on my butt but hurriedly looked up to apologize to my partner.
“I’m sorry! I… I suddenly ran out to chase after something. Wait, you aren’t… ”
“No, I’m the one who wasn’t paying attention… Nobana-san?”
At a rather close distance, I saw short chestnut-colored hair and green eyes. Even the way he raised his eyebrow in pain was refreshing.
No way, no way, it was the same Yamadori whom I had said “see you later” to a few hours ago.
“Why, is Yamadori-kun… ?”
“Yeah. Actually… I headed right back to the classroom right after I left you, and Hayashi forcefully invited me to join him for Sakura Survival. Apparently, the girl he had been looking for had turned him down. So, suddenly, the two of us decided to join up for the event. Now we’re looking for balls separately.”
“Oh, yeah.”
“Also, Morido-san, and Uminari-san from our class are also participating together. They seem to have known each other since childhood and work well together. They are strong opponents.”
“Oh, really! They certainly could be strong… ”
“Haha, they’re going to do everything they can to win first place, regardless of other pairs treating this as a couples event! I couldn’t help but go all out after seeing their fighting spirit. Oh, and there are others from our class… ”
“… Oi. What are you doing here?”
I was so happy to be able to talk normally right after awkwardly meeting him again, that we sat down together and started to talk. This was soon interrupted by a gruff voice coming from someone behind me.
I hurriedly turned around and saw him standing there, looking down at us with a grumpy expression on his face. His face was twenty percent more vicious than usual, and I felt a mysterious sense of crisis and stood up immediately.
“… You goof. You don’t have time to worry about this guy, you should be chasing after him. The ball collection is in progress, and there’s no time to waste! Let’s get the hell out of here.”
Kitara’s golden eyes sharpened as he took one look at Yamadori-kun, grabbed my arm, and started to walk away without another word.
Dragged back to thinking about the problem we faced, I followed his lead, even though my legs were a bit stiff. Pochitaro had long since disappeared down the hallway, so I had to get to work finding him as soon as possible, along with looking for the ball.
“I’m sorry, Yamadori-kun! Let’s… let’s… do… our… best… for… each… other! But, I’m not going to let you beat me!”
“Yeah, I’m not going to lose either. We’ll both do our best!”
As I walked away, I turned around and called out to him, and he stood up and smiled back at me.
I really have to get serious about this. There are so many strong opponents.
The Sakura Survival had reached the halfway mark, and I still only had one blue ball, a meager ten points to my name.
Heading into the second half of the game, I needed to give it my all.

ANIMT - Chapter 51. Extra: Fierce battle? Sakura Survival! Part 2
I Got An Extra Six Months of Life Expectancy, And Now It’s My Time
After parting with Yamadori-kun. We ran around all over the second floor looking for Pochitaro and the ball he stole.
As I had surmised, there were no traps on the second floor, so we were able to move more smoothly than on the first floor. That wasn’t to say we had totally unrestricted movement though. We ended up doing battle with another team we ran into.
As expected, they were all very experienced players who had been through the first floor and trap hell, and the blue ball we had found was stolen from us several times.
It was especially painful when we encountered the boy-girl pair Morido-san Uminari-san, who had just claimed a red and yellow ball from another team. The two of them really had a different level of enthusiasm and spirit compared to the other participants.
“Don’t let the delinquent and failure pair win the championship, Moridocchi!”
“Yes, we will exterminate every last team!”
They attacked us the moment we encountered them, and I was honestly scared for my life.
We also encountered the three dango sisters, and I took away the two red balls they were carrying. How did the three of them manage to work together in the first place? This was supposed to be an event for pairs only!
“We asked the treasurer and he agreed to allow the three of us to participate together!” For some reason, her confidence really ticked me off. Matsuri-senpai, who was willing to do anything to get more participants, and the three dango sisters, who were willing to do anything to stick together… I never realized they were so similar!
So, by the time we reached the end of the second floor, our total score was eighty points. While I had no clue whether that would be enough, my instincts told me that it was a good start.
As I mused over the points, I saw Pochitaro flying up the stairs leading to the third floor out of the corner of my eye. I jumped into an empty classroom at the end of the corridor.
Finally catching up with this dog, I moved to corner him.
“Wah-wah-wah!”
“Hey, what are you doing Pochitaro… ?”
The ball he had taken from me was still in his mouth, his red tongue peeking out, and for some reason, Pochitaro was banging his paw on the cleaning toolbox in the corner. He had been sitting there, repeating this motion since we had entered the classroom.
“What’s in here?”
I thought I had to catch him now, but Pochitaro’s dogged insistence got the better of me, and I opened the toolbox with a mighty thump.
Dust flew all over the place, and I could smell a musty odor.
There was nothing inside but a blue bucket, a rough broom, and a dirty rag.
“That… ”
And the thing I was least expecting. This round object, gleaming brightly in the bucket, is…
“Wah, it’s a gold ball!”
My eyes widened in surprise. I turned to Pochitaro in a panic, and he responded with a “Wahoo!” and then teleported away. Before I could even think to stop him, he had already disappeared.
“Don’t tell me that damn dog sniffed out this gold ball and brought us here… ?”
Kitora, who looked over my shoulder into the toolbox from behind, muttered with a complex expression on his face.
I wanted to dismiss it as a coincidence, but knowing how high spec Pochitaro-san is, I couldn’t bring myself to say that.
I decided not to question our current situation too deeply and just flashed Kitora a vague smile.
“But more importantly, what should we do, Kitora? If we take this ball, we will be forced to participate in a difficult game. Do you think we should do it?”
I had yet to lay a finger on the gold ball. According to the president, it was a ticket to a very difficult challenge. Winning would give us an extra hundred points, but losing would reduce our score by one hundred.
If it were purely up to me, I would definitely take part in the game, but as Kitora is doing the majority of the lifting in this event, I decided to go along with his choice in the matter.
It seems like this consideration was foolish, though.
“If you’ve got time to spout off nonsense, grab the ball before someone else comes along. It’s going to be a hard game, and if we win… We don’t have much time, let’s do it now.”
“Ah! You’re right, partner! We think alike, don’t we? Let’s not approach this light-heartedly. This is our chance at victory!”
“Are you making fun of me?”
I was so glad to see that he was thinking the same thing that I was. Feeling reassured, I reached for the ball.
Yes, we can win…
With all the confidence in the world, the moment I touched the ball… My eyes were assaulted by blue light. My vision distorted while my body felt like it was floating. This was a sensation that I knew all too well.
* * * *
“What is it? I wonder if teleportation is the latest fad? Or am I just unfortunate enough to encounter it so often… ?”
Returning to my senses, I found myself sitting on the cold floor in the center of a wide, open space that had no other defining features. This looked a lot like the training room I used with Kitora and Kokomi when practicing magic.
It seems that the gold ball was designed to send anyone who touched it to this place, so I guess you could say that this place was a battle stage.
“Don’t be stupid, get up. You never know how a game like this is going to start, so don’t get too comfortable.”
Kitora, who nervously studied his surroundings, looked like a beast in the middle of a hunt. I rushed to my feet and looked around cautiously, just like he was.
There was nothing suspicious to report, which was suspicious in and of itself. Still, as I held my guard stance without letting my guard down, out of nowhere, I heard the voice of the student council president.
“Welcome to the special battle stage! The two of you, who found the golden ball, will participate in a game for the chance to win a heap of points. A person will appear now and attempt to destroy the sakura badges you are wearing. If you can escape for a set period of time, you win. If either badge is destroyed, you lose, so don’t let your guard down. Now then, let’s have our opponent make her appearance!”
The rules were explained in an exaggerated manner, and before I had time to sort out the details in my head, the door opened with a bang.
The opponent who appeared was…
“K-Kokomi… ?”
“Oh, onee-sama… ?”
This was the biggest surprise of the day.
Unexpectedly, the youngest magical prodigy and my precious friend, Kokomi, dressed in her gym uniform, stood at the door as my enemy.
I was immensely astonished, and it seemed that Kokomi was as taken aback as I was. We were both stunned and froze as we stared at each other.
While we were still staring at each other, the president began speaking again.
“I was supposed to be the one fighting you today, but due to matters out of my hand, we have a vacancy that has left us short-handed, so we had to ask Kokomi, a first-year student who is a candidate for the next student council, to help us out. She’s strong, and if I’m not careful, she could probably beat me up with magic too! You have to try to escape from her somehow! You have fifteen minutes, and I wish you the best of luck!”
The enthusiastic president’s announcement ended abruptly, and the next thing we heard was Matsuri-senpai’s bright voice.
“Fifteen minutes remaining!”
Kokomi said, “Oh, how in the world am I supposed to fight against my onee-sama… ?”
Did I really have to fight Kokomi?
I mean, according to the rules the president explained to us, this challenge was meant to be difficult. But this was beyond the pale! When a single person has to fight a team, it’s obvious they would go for the weakest one first. I’m confident that I couldn’t even last three seconds if Kokomi was serious, right?
“I’m sorry, onee-sama, Futaki-san. I’m very sorry for this… But I can’t go easy on you.”
“Wait, wait a minute, Kokomi! I’m still preparing myself… !”
“Ha, this is finally my chance to pay you back!”
“Stop, Kitora! Why are you two already in battle mode?”
The two of them glared at each other with such ferocity that I could swear I saw sparks flying. While I was still trying to psych myself up, a mysterious gong rang strongly.
----This is how the last boss battle began.
Now, more than ten minutes have passed since the start, and I’m not the slightest bit happy about how long we have lasted.
“You little bastard! Normally, you would go for the weak one, right? You’ve been attacking me nonstop. What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“No! I can’t… I can’t attack my sister! Breaking either badge is enough to beat your team. Naturally, you’ll have to be the sacrifice Futaki-san! And even if I attacked onee-sama, you will defend her anyway! I don’t want to see that either!”
“I don’t know! It’s almost like you and I are love rivals! I mean, it feels like you are attacking me directly and not even aiming at my badge!”
“I can’t deny that I have a great deal of resentment for you participating in this event with onee-sama!”
“Stop your yapping! I’ve told you so many times already, she’s the one who invited me. I just went along with it!”
“I don’t care about that! Anyway, brace yourself, Futaki-san. I’m going to make you die here!”
“Screw you!”
Kokomi Tokitora fought fiercely with magic and words. I could follow the conversation, but the magic they exchanged was another story altogether. It was so advanced that all I could do was stand still and watch them. The person at the center of their conversation was left completely out of the loop.
I think I have to do something, but in every way, there was no gap for me to step into this fight.
“Futaki-san is a cheat! I was the first one to become friends with onee-sama, and then she became my legitimate partner! Today, I’m going to complain without reservation!”
“If you want to complain, say it with your mouth! Don’t say anything while you’re shooting such ludicrous magic at me!”
“Three minutes remaining!”
While Kitora and Kokomi continued their heated exchange, Matsuri-senpai communicated the amount of time they had left. Immediately, the mood in the room changed once again. The two began preparing to unleash their trump cards, and I was so driven to do something about it that I started to run.
Truthfully, I didn’t want to get in between them. However, if I don’t stop them here, I’m afraid they will get too serious and someone will end up hurt. And more than anything, the facade I had erected to see out my final days would crumble if either of them were to stop being my friend.
I put the game, victory or defeat, aside, and shouted with all my might to protect the safety of all of us, on all fronts.
“Stop, stop! Calm down! Kokomi and Kitora, stop!”
“Huh… ?”
“Onee-sama… ?”
I was worried that I might not be able to control them as they were on the verge of losing their minds, but both of them stopped moving on a dime.
Kitora was breathing hard and sweat was pouring down his neck. Kokomi’s fluffy golden hair was a mess, and she was breathing hard. Just by looking at them, you can tell that they were fighting each other under extreme conditions.
I was relieved that I could calm the situation down, even if only for a moment.
My cry came a little late, and it seems that my timing was also bad.
“What!?”
Kitora had been halfway through summoning a huge wind in the middle of the room, and he miscalculated slightly. The wind, which had been forming around his hands, was greatly disturbed before it disappeared, blowing wildly around him.
The rogue wind pressure blew the badge off his chest, sending it soaring to the ceiling.
The petals scattered as they hit the floor.
The magician’s eyes flew wide open, as an announcement sounded, “Finally, we’re done! As one of the badges broke, both participants have lost. I’m sorry, but that’s minus one hundred points!”
As Kitora and I, as well as Kokomi were left stunned and unable to open our mouths in front of the pink and flying debris, the president quickly declared the game over without a second’s pause.
Is this the end of us?
“It was a nice fight. Well, it happens sometimes. As long as it’s fun, that’s all that matters! And Sakura Survival itself is still going on, so don’t give up and keep collecting balls! Well then, thank you very much for your hard work.”
The announcement, which was cut off with a snap, made the delicate atmosphere even more subtle.
I casually picked up a piece of cherry-red debris that had flown to my feet and made a furtive expression.
The game started on an oblique track and had yet to change course.
A few moments later, we were sent back to the special building as if nothing had happened, and although I suffered a great deal of psychological damage, I had to make a brave face and continue collecting balls. Even so, there was no denying we had lost one hundred points and the damage this had caused was immense.
Not much later, the event came to an end, points were totalled, and the rankings were announced. Kitora and I came in first! … If you started with the bottom of the list. We came in dead last.
By the way, the winner was the Uminari-san and Morido-san pair, who secured their lead by winning a gold ball challenge. Their score was overwhelming. The faces of the two on the podium looked so refreshed that I couldn’t even feel any regret.
And now…
After receiving our prizes (a handful of discount coupons) Kitora and I strolled through the long corridor of the school building. We were on our way to the festival’s closing ceremony.
“Hey, Kitora, you can stop making that scary face if you want. It was my fault that I called out to you guys in the middle of the fight, so you don’t have to feel responsible, okay? Don’t worry about it anymore.”
“… I don’t really care.”
“Sure, sure… But you’re rather upset, aren’t you? That crease between your eyebrows is deeper than usual.”
“I’m not upset.”
I sighed secretly at Kitora’s stubborn attitude, his eyes glaring at me.
After returning to the special building, he quietly devoted himself to searching for more balls and continued to do so even after the event ended. It seems that he was too proud to forgive himself for his slip in magic control.
Wind attribute magic was notoriously difficult to control. So just because he failed after being distracted did not mean that he was a bad magician. Our chances of winning may have ended due to his mistake, but in my point of view, getting that far was the bigger surprise.
So there’s no need to worry so much about it.
“… Well, it’s too bad we didn’t win, that’s for sure. I had a good time, so I’m quite satisfied. I guess that’s it. Didn’t you have fun, Kitora?”
I glanced up at his face.
Yes, that’s what it should all come down to.
Of course, I would be happy if we won, but this was a cultural festival, an event. I’m sure that having fun is the first priority, and even if we lose, if we had a good time, that’s all that matters.
I think I enjoyed myself… even if I lost.
“… ”
Kitora did not answer my question and clicked his tongue. He then picked up his pace as he tried to escape.
Yes, I know. As usual… he’s not being honest with himself. He’s a tiger.
And I’m not a failure, Student Council President. I know it was not a glamorous ending, but this kind of ending wasn’t too bad.
“… One thing I can say for sure is that I will crush that dog.”
I caught up and stood next to him again as he muttered something like that. I smiled a little at his words and thought, “I’m sure I’ll see Pochitaro and Kokomi later on and there will be another ruckus.”
Well, even if it gets out of hand, it sounds like it will be fun.
I couldn’t win the event, but I enjoyed the Sakura Survival to the fullest, and thus ended my first and last Cultural Festival.
