The Iron Dice | US. Politics: The Vibe is in Shambles

Hey gang,

new bonus show dropping in for ya. I apologize for the delay on this one that is due to covid slapping me around pretty bad. Now I'm up and running again. I've somewhat dreaded talking about US Politics in detail again for reasons talked about in this episode but I feel like sometimes you just gotta let things out.

As such this episode turned into a bit of a rant but I hope to counter-balance that with a couple of future guests I plan on having on. As we approach the midterms in the US. we're gonna focus a bit more on not just how bad things are, but ways to move forward and finding release valves for the anxiety a lot of people on the left feel when it comes to the US. In terms of future content I will have a new video for you (whaaat? Yes!) that I plan to release early August.

If everything goes as planned I'll release that vid and another podcast ep in early to mid August. The last (not counting the epilogue) episode of FftR-series is scheduled for September. Since we'll wrap things up in episode 7 its a bit of a longer project that the last episode. After that is released, I'll make a patreon post where you have the opportunity to get all your questions about the series or Weimar era in. I'll then do a extra episode going over all kinds of open questions and loose ends (What happens to Friedrich Ebert? Who was ultimately at fault, communists or Social democrats? etc.) and I'm looking forward to your comments.

I wont say I hope you "enjoy" this one but at least I hope you get something out of it.

Reminder that you can listen to the bonus feed on most podcast apps if you add the custom RSS URL https://www.patreon.com/rss/DanArrows?auth=bYT6-RxwxjpQC52tp2yzft37u8H3crZP

Love ya and stay safe,

Dan

This one was sobering for sure. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to keep going in the current climate here in the US. I'm finding some hope in the work my comrades here are doing. We are rapidly building mutual aid networks and cooperative land projects to secure our safety and the safety of those even more vulnerable, but it is troubling to think of how hard we have to fight for just that.

Hi Dan, I listened to your podcast on the sorry state of US politics and I really enjoyed it, though it was very sobering. I'm active in Australian Politics and it is right now arguably the exact opposite. We had an election two months ago where the progressive and union-backed Labor Party won government on a fantastic agenda that I believe will last a very long time. We just restarted Parliament and they're now advancing genuine climate target ceilings, paid domestic violence leave, establish a jobs and skills agency and abolish a racist cashless debit card. I say this because I want more people (particuarly in the Anglosphere, whom your audience is mostly based) to see Australia as a potential guiding light to a strong, genuine progressive future. If you wish to learn more, I would consider it a great opportunity if you want to discuss further. Cheers

Cameron Strauss
