That line was spoken in season 1 ep4 when Viserys (Daenerys' brother) was having a conversation in a tub with some woman about some of the incredible things she's seen in her life. I couldn't say anything back then but she was probably talking about Jaqen or someone like him.

It wasn't until season 1 was over that I began watching the show after a friend kept insisting. My friend didn't tell me that the show had zombies, witches, and magic. I was a big Walking Dead fan at the time, so the zombies in Thrones got me hooked. My mom binge watched it about a year ago after I convinced her to check it out. Definitely one of the best TV shows of all time.

When I watched the show the first time around I missed this and didn't pick up on it until I read the books. I feel like it's an important detail that can be missed.

2023-02-08 02:39:40 +0000 UTCRemember also too that Tyrion was only Hand of the King in Tywin's stead until Tywin came back, so Tyrion was a "temporary" hand, because they named Tywin as hand in S1 before Sansa plead for Ned's life after Ned was thrown in prison. But Tywin was busy fighting Robb Stark so he named Tyrion as hand in his stead.

Tywins history and familys bitterness against Tyrion: If you wondered why Tywin is so grim the way he is there is a reason for it from his history more told in the books. Tywin met love of his life Joanna and they had a happy marriage Joanna even giving him advice on everything. People always knew Tywin as a really serious man and they were surprised how Joanna made him smile and happy even laughing to her jokes. They had twins and everything seemed fine. But on her third time giving birth there were complications and Tyrion was born. Joanna bled to death on the bed and Tywin was heartbroken. It is said that the day Joanna died part of Tywin died too. That is also the reason for bitterness Tywin and Cercei have for Tyrion. But there maybe is one Lannister that might have little bit different attitude..
