Working on this page reminded me of the time I was on a date with a guy who kept negging me for being Asian before negging was even a word in our generation's vocabulary. (He did not get a second date.)
A brief note, because this unfortunate part of queer history might not be familiar to all, but "no fats, no femmes, no Asians" is/was a terrible attitude prevalent in the gay male community that was ostensibly about sexual preferences but, if you peeled it back, you'd find toxic, racist, ableist, fatphobic ideas about masculinity and attraction. If you were a queer guy in the 2000s, you probably would've seen it in Craigslist m4m posts or other early aughts social media. I hear you might still see it on dating apps today. :(
Anyway I personally enjoy the challenge of making William's face look as punchable as possible in every panel he appears in!!!
