Friday Art Preview - 10/27/23
Added 2023-10-27 12:47:44 +0000 UTCHey, it's Friday again so let's check out some art! This week we have some leader illustrations for an upcoming unannounced Ancient Realm expansion.
Here we have Khufu, most famous for the building of the Great Pyramids of Giza. We worked with the same artist as the base game so that the art would be consistent in style. When we reached out to the artist I thought that illustrating people from ancient times, where there are no photographs, would be very difficult! Our artist did a great job of capturing the look of each person in their style.
This one is Chares of Lindos, a sculptor most famous for the Colossus of Rhodes. What I like about this illustration is that the character is looking slightly upward, in awe. Almost like they're looking at the Colossus from a distance. The exciting thing about working on a game based on real people is to imagine the lives they lived!
