Friday Art Preview - 9/22/23

Wow, can't believe it's Friday already! As you know each Friday we check out some art. This week we have some cards for an upcoming party game.

This image right here is one of the cards from an upcoming game called Guesswork. Designed by Charlie McCarron, Guesswork is a really fun party game where all the values are 1-18. This was one of the winners from out Numbers on Cards challenge from last year. Guesswork is a very light and silly game, so we wanted the artwork to match that feeling. These fun cards are illustrated by Filip Popovic. Filip also illustrated Championland and Astral Dreams for us.

In the Numbers on Cards challenge, designers were sent blank wallets and blank cards labeled 1-18. Designers were encouraged to draw on the cards and the wallets. The doodles on the cards for this prototype were silly and fun.

A lot of that was translated into the final version that Filip illustrated. We wanted to keep the tone the same but update the illustrations. I think Filip found the right balance and kept the tone of the prototype. For example. the image to the left is the final art while the image to the right is the prototype.
