Our first Friday update!

Hey everyone! A quick text-only update just to say hello to all of our new supporters and give everyone a timeline of where we are with things. I said I was going to make sure that I post at least every Friday. Well today is the first of those, and it also happens to be the first Friday in March, so there's that. :)

Hello new patrons!

We've had a great wave of new names and faces around here. Welcome and thank you for joining us! I can only imagine the wave is coming from our current Kickstarter campaign. But if it isn't, please let me know in the comments. A huge goal for 2018 is to build this club into bigger and better things, especially from a content level. Great games that will keep you coming back, and lots of updates here with more than just the newest game that's for sale. A big thing that I want to do is play through or instructional videos. I'm a little out of my element when on camera, but I keep trying it. I'm better with a lightly animated (well, more of a slideshow) video format with voiceover, but those take a bit longer to edit. Either way it's on my goal list.

Timeline

The last of our January packages go out the door tomorrow morning. And then I'm getting right into ordering the last pieces for the February package. I may even be ready to order the last pieces for March. If not, very close. We are well ahead in some areas, but still catching up in others. Now that I'm home 2 extra days a week, the focus is all here. I want to make this not only a package you receive each month, but a package that you receive in the month that it's supposed to be out.

If you were a supporter as of Dec 31, 2017, you should have a January package in hand by next week. If you don't, please let me know and I'll look into it.

And if you are a $20 supporter waiting on a shirt, I have all of the sizes and I' m working on these now. I assume you'll see yours with your February package.

Conventions

Will anyone be at Granite Game Summit next weekend? I will be there along with a handful of Button Shy designers, our friends at Flip The Table, and more.

After that is Unpub in Maryland, and a few weeks later Pax East in Boston. If you will be at any, please let me know! It's always great to meet everyone and I'll likely have some upcoming games on hand if you want a preview of what's coming.

Survey

Part of trying to enhance our Patreon page will be a survey that'll go out in a few weeks. I will upload a link here, just asking for feedback about the club in general and how we do things and what you are receiving, etc. I want to use it to see where we can make improvements. I just want to wait until you all have the 2018 games in hand, as we've ramped things up a bit here in 2018.

I think that's it for now. Just a quick hello! Also, if you want to check out any of our upcoming games and are not on our playtesting network email group, here are a few links.

Hey Jason, just a heads- up that my BGOTM envelope got held up at the post office as a "package" with postage due. Once I had it in hand, found that the two small card packs (3Lands & Books) had slipped on top of each other so it would no longer fit through their "letter" slot. Haven't had this happen in the past but if you're getting a lot of missing packages for Jan, this might be the issue!

I’d be happy to pay for a copy of Nanotec to be added to a future BGotM package as well.

Just dropping you a line; I love what you're doing here with the wallet games and have for a while, and I jumped on the Patreon bandwagon when I heard you were trying to make it a full-time gig :) My son (6) and daughter (3) played Kintsugi last night and had a blast. I love the range you're offering!

Can I change my requested shirt size to XL? I think I may have mistakenly marked it as large. Thanks!

Brett Casto

I've been a fan of the games and the idea of wallet games. I think the Kickstarter, getting Herotec, etc and the news about you going full time were all factors.

>> can only imagine the wave is coming from our current Kickstarter campaign. But if it isn't, please let me know I'm not in the latest Kickstarter. I'm just hear to support Jason Tagmire bcz he's such a great guy every time I see him anywhere, always friendly and positive, always quick with answers that go beyond the call, a real gentleman. >> big thing that I want to do is play through or instructional videos. I'm a little out of my element when on camera I love playthroughs! As for being out of element, there are plenty of options, including collaboration. I'm sure you can work out something great. I look forward to it!

end of March is likely for February, and mid April is likely for March. The gap is getting tighter and tighter and I would love to have April out by April 30th and May out by May 20th. Ideally packages will start going out around the 20th of each month. They take a full weekend to assmemble and mail, so the 20th-30th will allow that full weekend each month.

Thanks for the update; a few remarks. Weekly updates will be nice, as long as you've got sufficient info to share that frequently. You don't necessarily have to be visible in videos; you could record the game and table with just your hands and voice if that helps. Ideally the monthly club packages would come in the month they're supposed to, I agree, but if they slip, it's not a huge problem. They always come in the end. If you're still waiting on pieces for February, are you thinking the end of March for that package? March is either the very end of the month or early in April? Just trying to get an idea. When the survey comes, I'll try to provide more thoughts there.
