2024-07-05 18:10:47 +0000 UTCI saw the trailer for this, who the seiyuu were, heard the Ending, and after that it was immediately on my must-watch list. Its an enjoyable series. Like you I loved the mishmash of traditional and modern instruments for the Openings and Endings. The instrument they're playing in the anime is a shamisen, a three-string instrument. Its definitely up there as one of my favourite music anime, but my absolute favourite would be Given. Some anime/donghua Openings I'd recommend are: Banana Fish; Given; Gangsta.; Undead Murder Farce; Tian Guan Ci Fu (Heaven Official's Blessing); Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation); Fugou Keiji (The Millionaire Detective); Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope); KazeTsuyo (Run with the Wind); and Akudama Drive.
