Not sure if you're enjoying yourself watching this show but I am really curious to see your reaction on season 2. I think its a brilliant wrap up and if you watch it this close after season 1 everything is still fresh

2024-12-03 03:02:29 +0000 UTCthis show is absolutely fantastic it is a beautiful show, so i thought as well when i watched but Silco wasn't going to give up Jinx, However I then learned as he says "there is not so undoing as a daughter" this a common theme in the show with many characters, (Mel, Marcus, Vi, Vander) but he was simply telling Vander "I understand now" and Silco not giving Jinx up then adds to the political drama of war between the two cities being inevitable, the council only agrees to peace in exchange for Jinx, and silco won't do it. Like Vander, Silco decides to put his daughter before the fate of the undercity, giving those two a parallel and an end to their arc. So for what you were saying in the end, there is actually a small docu series about the making of Arcane (available to watch on youtube) and the showrunner does say a big part of Jinx character theme , is "can you forgive a monster" I personally will always love Jinx, she is so slay and in story terms she really is a product of her terrible and violent environment that only exists because of this hierarchy. She has done many many terrible things but she is an amazingly written character that I cannot help but love.

2024-12-01 20:41:56 +0000 UTCimagine being left on THAT cliff-hanger.... for three years..... Anyways had some stuff I wanted to say, Silco wasn't lying, he wouldn't have given up jinx to Piltover. [other comments have explained so not gonna get into it]. Also just wanted to say Caitlyn and Vi are very much romantically involved, canon lesbians for yearsss before arcane- not sure if you were already thinking that but thought id make it clear. Also something a lot of people forget is that Vi was in prison for 7 years. She went from seeing her sister happy, to thinking she was dead for 7 years, to then being freed and seeing her like this... definitely gonna be a lot to comprehend. Anyways so excited for your reactions to season 2- truly a masterpiece of a show and believe it or not it gets better! Lots of thanks for these reactions Brad <3

Like they just agreed to give Zaun independence which is what Jinx and Silco and everyone wanted and then Jinx goes and blows them up and literally had a couple more hours passed for the news to get to them she'd probably have held off. I understand her perspective too but the way the cards line up makes it so so heartbreaking. The parallels of Act 1 as well with Powder/Jinx screwing up right as things are looking up. She's such a tragic character just trying to do what she thinks is right

2024-12-01 17:19:10 +0000 UTCOne interpretation is that when Silco was saying to the Vander statue "and what do I lose but problems?", he meant technically he would have less problems if they took Jinx, because everyone is always complaining about her. But then he says to Vander "is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" What he means is that his love for Jinx is going to ruin his plans for Zaun that he's always had, but it kind of does sound like he's going to give her up, that's why Jinx thinks that's what he means. But to Silco, she was worth giving up his dream for Zaun. He wasn't a good father, but he did love her more than his dream and wouldn't have given her up. And from Silco's perspective, Vi wasn't a good sister because she abandoned Jinx when she was little, just like Vander abandoned Silco. His relationship with Jinx was VERY enmeshed, and he was trying to "protect her" from Vi causing her more pain. He also was subconsciously afraid of her leaving him, because he also has abandonment issues. Their relationship is very unhealthy, but he did love her in his own fucked-up way. Can't wait to see your reaction to Season 2 once you get the time! 😊 it's the last of the Arcane seasons sadly, but they will be making more shows in the same universe.

2024-12-01 15:49:49 +0000 UTCNow imagine having to wait several years for the second season ;-; right now you’ve seen it all I can indulge on sharing some details! Silco is a big talk in the arcane community but I personally believe he did in fact love jinx and wouldn’t of traded her, there’s many times during the show he does this through his actions and words. Jinx was traumatised from a very young age and because of that she has somewhat stayed in a mental age of that day the trauma occurred, some analysed her to be schizophrenic or DID (dissociative identity disorder) but I think it could be many things. Jinx is by far my favourite character in the show and Mel (gold armour queen) it all delves sooooo much deeper next season! And I can’t wait for you to react!
