I think back to Shelby's withering assessment of him in Best of Both Worlds and... ever since then, she was right. Riker in Season 4 & 5 seems to kindof be coasting.

Do you think there is a different awareness of Picard and the Federation that the Romulans have but were unsure of until the episode of the neutral zone, at which time the Romulans would’ve confirmed their Intel obtained from Tasha yar and may have had other plans to test Picard in these earlier episodes that we were not aware of and how do you think that plays out throughout the history of the Federation and it’s projected future

In this post-Roddenberry era there were plenty of reasons for trepidation and excitement alike, so what are your thoughts on the decision to double down on the setting and franchise like this?
