I forgot to say this when the uncut version was posted. I've always wondered about the Sarek/Spock debate on the Cardassian Wars. In my head, it could really only be Sarek opposing the war, and Spock, with his Starfleet/military background coming out in favor of it and pointing out flaws in his father's position. Interesting to think about.

Waaaaambulance.

I suspect almost the entire US movie going public of the last 25 years would be shocked to learn "The Talanted Mr Ripley" is a remake of an excellent French film.

Why should they react to a french comedy movie? Yes, I know you mean the american remake directed by Leonard Nimoy. But I hate it when Americans deny the European original. Or worse: They even don't know Hollywood just made a rip off.

Sam Langanke

you guys should react to three Men and a Baby

Stephen Root plays the Klingon captain. He's so good at being the character you can't really tell it's him. IMO Jimmy James from NewsRadio was his best role.

Pardek was, of course, played by Malachi Throne who famously played Commodore José I. Mendez, the illusion of Commodore José I. Mendez, and the voice of The Keeper in the first two-part episode -- The Menagerie. Graham Jarvis who played Klim Dokachin at the beginning of part one was a famous character actor who was often used whenever a television show needed a bald, pompous character.

It's not a coincidence that this came out very close to ST6. One of the reasons (actually, the main or only if I recall) Nimoy agreed to do this episode was as a way to promote the film, which he wrote and served as the executive producer for.

After the discussions about Crosby, I looked it up. According to the rules it was permissible to omit actor's names from the credits/opening credits if and only if the actor agreed. It was not unheard of but somewhat rare for actor's to agree to this. One of the reasons Denise Crosby did agree was that the character of Sela was her own idea and so she had an especially personal investment in keeping her secret. We may not know the specifics in every single case, but at least generally when an actor is spoiled in the opening credits it will be because they wanted their name there.

Can’t wait to watch this in an hour. Been waiting for this and Star Trek 6 as well!

Two in one, good decision. I agree with you on doing it separately wouldn't have been as effective. This is another fav of mine for season 5. Great interactions from Spock, Data and Picard. Romulans were gone for a bit but never forgotten. Thanks for your efforts. 🖖

Been waiting so long for you both to enjoy this two parter…Part 1 was like foreplay…and Part 2 was, well amazing to see Spock interact with Data and Picard. Did you notice the surprise on Picards face as Spock announced it was Senator Pardek who betrayed them? Picard is usually ahead of everyone, but even he was behind “The Great Spock”. Cheers! 😎
