ANOTHER GOAL HIT! CAN WE HIT 100 BEFORE THE STREAM??

ICYMI - PATREON LIVE STREAM GOALS

Y’all are awesome! Didn’t think we would have this many signups/upgrades before the stream!

25 ✅

50 ✅

75 ✅

100 ???

This means the 75 member goal to watch an episode of any non-Trek series has been met, so go ahead and start dropping your suggestions and making your arguments now! An official post will come later this week

As I said in the last update, we wanted to have 3 goals we can hit on stream. We already announced that at 150 we will watch a FULL season 2 of a series we watched 1 season of and stopped! We will listen to opinions on this, but it will ultimately be our choice. The main difference with this goal is that both the UNCUT & EDITED reactions will be EXCLUSIVE to Patreon for all tiers $10 & up! It will be planned for the Spring.

Now we need another goal! If we hit 175 by the end of tomorrow’s stream, we will watch a MOVIE SERIES decided by Patrons UNCUT & EDITED reactions EXCLUSIVE to Patreon for all tiers $10 & up! It will also be planned for the Spring.

If we can hit 100 by the start of the stream tomorrow we will introduce one more big stretch goal, so let’s keep it going! 🖖

My recommendations...for a pound of cheese.Siliders. Space 1999. But Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and the Six Million Dollar Man. Both of those are shows in the lexicon you might enjoy. And honorable mention goes to the Misfits of Science. And the Powers of Matthew Starr.

Kicked In The Dicebags

Space: above and beyond. A cool 1 season show from the 90’s

rob slack

I am suggesting “Nowhere Man” 1996 Bruce Greenwood, Pilot movie directed by Tobe hooper

Thicketdweller

Heroes is so fun, and I agree with the suggestion, but we both know the show is more about the plot and less about the characters having the best interactions and arcs. Though, horn rims and clock man are actors that pulls it off well non the less.

Thomas Larsen

I suggest the pilot episode of "Heroes". A few actors from Star Trek franchise are in later episodes.

Redjac

Huh. I did think about a second chance episode of Red Dwarf, but I'd hate for you guys to lose out on a reward vid if it turns out the humor isn't for you.

Nolan

Other than the pilot episodes of either show, I don't think you could watch any of the other episodes and not be lost as to what is going on. Two terrific shows, though.

thebeefmaster

Might I suggest that instead of one Bond actor, you have us choose one film from each actor (Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, and Brosnan.)

Nerd's Gold

A while back, I sent our dudes here a message saying I thought they'd find Carnivale interesting, and I stand by that. Now, I'm trying to decide between that and Sense8 for what they'd enjoy more. lol, two shows in one post, I'm disqualified!

SageGreenGoat

How about the first episode of always sunny in Philadelphia

Anthony Varra

Great suggestion. This episode has horror elements.

T’Pynyn of Vulcan

So agree! That was a banger episode--perfect casting.

John Zelinka

"Sherlock" with Benedict Cumberbatch. "A Study in Pink " or "A Scandal in Belgravia"

T’Pynyn of Vulcan

Ok. Now that I have had time to make another suggestion: Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law: The Dabba Don. 13 minutes

Phil Ken Sebben

Pilot episode of M*A*S*H* from 1972

Monty Crawford

I would suggest The Bionic Woman, "Doomsday is Tomorrow", but I just looked it up and it's a two parter. Then there's the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew mysteries, "The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew meet Dracula", but it's also a two parter. Then there's the Alien Nation series, but you should watch the movie first. Are we sticking with sci-fi/horror/fantasy? if not, Magnum PI has great episodes. Unfortunately, "Did you see the sunrise?" is also a two parter, but "The Curse of the King Kamehameha Club" is a good introduction. Sliders has some very smart episodes. I would suggest "Last Days" from season one. BUT WAIT! I just had a thought. The Wild Wild West. Most episodes can be considered science fiction and some even go over into horror. It's difficult nailing down one episode for you though (maybe "The Night of the Red Eyed Monster"?)

Nerd's Gold

I still think the pilot of Space: 1999 would be a good show to try. It’s got connections to Trek plus Hammer Horror and was produced by Gerry Anderson. It has some of the most terrifying scenes I ever saw on TV as a child.

Paul Rymer

I know I mentioned it before and it's "technically" two episodes but I'm just throwing it out there because it's awesome and I'd love to see the guys react to it...V (1983)

Todd Pritchett

LOTR would be a terrific one to do. Best trilogy of all time. I know Alex has seen it but even still, please think about it.

Forbidden Donut

I think I have a good one. the show Castle S5 ep 6 "The Final Frontier." A few good Nathan Fillion "Firefly" mentions, a couple good guest appearances, it is set at a Sci Fi convention and a couple real debates that Sci Fi fans have: smart Sci Fi vs Action; and why people like Sci Fi. It is a good ep in that you do not need to know the big picture of the show.

Prof Moff

The X-Files S7 E21 - Je Souhaite - A standalone episode. Je Souhaite is French for "I Wish".

thebeefmaster

Ah... if it ends up being Connery, I'd at least include the one off Bond actor Lazenby as well, since his movie is in continuity, but in between two Connery's. (It's also either one of the best, or the worst in people's memories)

Nolan

I knew this would be mentioned and if chosen we would do the films for one Bond actor and not Daniel Craig because we’ve seen some of those.

Josh (Target Audience)

Very clever James, Considering that Columbo straddles the line of TV series and TV movies extremely precariously. 🙃

Nolan

Also, if they're gonna watch a movie series, and we wanna give em content for awhile, and considering they loved the 1960s production era of Trek, why not all of James Bond?

Nolan

Scrubs, S1E1 "My First Day" Because clearly the channel needs more Dr. Stubbs. (And also because it is entirely different from what you've done so far)

Nolan

I suggest Columbo - “Fade in to Murder” or “A Stitch in Crime”

James H

That’s the goal for 100, looks likely

Josh (Target Audience)

😔 someday 🤣

Phil Ken Sebben

Which goal tier would an episode of Star Trek Continues fall under..? 😉

The Ninth Doctor

Phil.. a TV show. I’m aware MST3K aired on television but it’s not what we are looking for.

Josh (Target Audience)

Congrats boys, you deserve it.

Clyde Frog

Season 9 Episode 3

Phil Ken Sebben

It’s for a TV show reaction

Josh (Target Audience)

My official suggestion is MST3k - Pumaman

Phil Ken Sebben

Cherry picking single episodes is just not how I engage with tv. That's why strict release order has been one major selling point on the channel for me. So I don't have a random episode to suggest but.. as for a season two of something that was started, I'll go with The Walking Dead. S2 is great and it aligns with the channel's horror angle (if the goal is hit, of course)

James Bottas

SeaQuest DSV, the pilot episode "To Be or Not to Be." It's superficially TNG underwater. The cast was excellent, and the storytelling improved throughout season 1. (Let's not talk about season 2.) Just watch the beginning and see if you like it.

tyranusfan

Farscape season 1 episode 15, Durka Returns! Or my second choice would be to watch the two parter of Farscape season 1 episodes 19/20, "Nerve/Hidden Memory", it just semi-spoils some previous episodes, but not too bad.. And wouldn't matter if you never go back to watch the series in full and it's more like quick flashes of thing you may not remember later anyways.

Murtaugh

This is also a fantastic introduction to Doctor Who for non Doctor Who fans

harrypothead42024

This is a great recommendation and I just want to clarify that the original post means season 3 after the 2005 restart

harrypothead42024

How about episode 10 from season 3 of Doctor Who? The episode is called “Blink” and its very standalone - and can be watched without seeing any other episodes from the series.

Matt Everkoul

You guys are the most difficult people to get a gift for lol. Back to the drawing board 😁. Keep up the great content!

Matthew Ganz

Josh has seen HP, Alex has seen LOTR, we’ve both seen the first few Pirates

Josh (Target Audience)

Nope

Josh (Target Audience)

Alex has seen all of Lost.

Josh (Target Audience)

Alex watched Andor. He thought it was good.

Josh (Target Audience)

I would watch this reaction.i think they are looking for just one episode.. Walkabout would be a good one on this!

TalynStarburst

Farscape two parter “Nerve/The Hidden Memory” from season 1 episode 19 and 20. It introduces a huge plot that is a game changer for the series and one of the best all time villains imo. If a two parter is out of the question, then Buffy Hush season 4 episode 10 as I mention both of these a few times. Congrats are your growth!

TalynStarburst

While I plan to vote for Buffy Season 2 and am thus tempted to vote for a Buffy episode, I shall instead try to confuse the hell out of the metrics by voting for Star Wars, Andor, Episode 1.

AC C

LOST

Mister Hope

It may seem a little random but,, Farscape season 3, episode 16: Revenging Angel... I know, I know! Farscape... But listen. This is a fun standalone episode of television, remember when you were younger, you'd just turn on TV and something fun would be on and maybe.. maybe it would hook you? There's a lot of plot threads going on in this episode but you don't need to understand the Lore to have the fun. This episode is literally looney tunes... And I guarantee you will pop at an incredible moment of sci Fi fun. I gar-on-tee ✨ (plus? In 2009, TV Guide ranked this episode #82 on its list of the 100 Greatest Episodes of television..) I think anyone else going to bat for Farscape, would likely suggest Crackers Don't Matter or a few others that are a little too manic if you're not already hooked.. This is the better episode and you two will have way more fun with it. 💯

Loki Incredible

As for a single episode from a series. What about avatar the last airbender? Have you seen any of that before?

Matthew Ganz

I'm assuming that you've seen the harry potter series and the entirety of the lord of the rings including the hobbit portion. What about the pirates of the caribbean series have you both seen that?

Matthew Ganz
