Oh man, no one's even MENTIONED Episode 1 of "Scrubs" yet. Lets see how they like Dr. Stubbs as a series _regular._ 😈

Nolan

I didn't like it at all. Felt like it was trying too hard to be "out there."

Jovet

Yes I second Passing Through Gethsemane. It's a fantastic stand alone episode that doesn't spoil anything. Severed Dreams is one of the best episodes of the entire series, but it would spoil the entire show, and it only works if you've watched everything up to it prior.

BN13

I find a lot of the viewing suggestions so OBVIOUS. I'd like to see you do something totally different from ANYTHING you've ever done. My suggestion would be an episode of M*A*S*H entitled "The Bus."

Max Shenk

Yes I suppose it would. Thanks and I'm enjoying your channel!

Derek Lawrence

Derek, would you like The Shawshank Redemption to be your entry to the movie reaction lottery? You get one choice with your membership

Josh (Target Audience)

Choosing one episode of any show that you stopped watching won't really work for BSG, unless it's Season 2, Episode 1. It's a series that builds on knowledge of previous episodes, so if someone instructed you to watch an episode from Season 3 you two would be totally lost, and when you two are lost, you tend to talk over the dialog more, which makes you even more lost.

Gaming the Systems

That movie is so whack I know you two will have a blast with it.

Mike Rogers

I just upgraded to the paid tier, looking forward to accessing the content (do I continue to access through YouTube or through Patreon?) I vote to watch Shawshank Redemption, so you can finally rectify the comment "I never saw Shawshank" made in a TNG reaction video. Love the channel, I've been subscribed and watching you guys since 2023. 🖖

Derek Lawrence

Let’s goo!!!!

Josh (Target Audience)

I upgraded to the $10 tier. Can't wait for all the new shit coming.

Clyde Frog

"Occurrance At Owl Creek Bridge" ...a French film, later shown as an episode of Twilight Zone. If you've never seen it, you will be blown away. I will just leave it there. Anyone here who's seen it (it has been studied in film classes) PLEASE SAY NOTHING, other than yes or no. Thanks.

Michael Metrick

There is an amazing fan film called "The Tressaurian Intersection" (of the "Starship Exeter") fan group that looks like a lost episode of the Desilu TOS. That may be a good one to watch: the 52-minute crowd-funded production was shot in a studio in Austin, Texas and while it's a sister ship to Kirk's Enterprise, we honestly couldn't tell they didn't use the same sets but built their own. And yes, Alex, they even have a 2-tier Engineering deck [set] you like, set in a third ship, (yet another in the fleet) as seen from the office above in the corner, like we saw in many TOS episodes with Scotty working up there. I won't spoil it for you, and will peak your interest by saying the story's opening was obviously inspired from the opening of TOS's first pilot, "The Cage."

Rhett Coates

The problem with Continues and most fan films is that they are too concerned with copying what came before, the sets, the costumes even the acting styles are imitated. The various Kirks for example rarely feel like Kirk, they feel like Shatner parodies. Watching them makes me feel uncomfortable.

Phillip Grischa

I'm fairly sure (you never know...) that the guys would really love the show CHUCK (2007-2012). Would enjoy them watching the pilot ep and seeing what they think. :) For a totally "out there" recommendation: Twin Peaks! Not sure the guys would enjoy this type of bizarre storytelling, but their reactions could be gold.

Lovok

Agree with most here, "Hush" is the gold standard for showing someone a single episode of the show with the goal of hooking them in. Most of the other 'greats' just require too much context to fully appreciate.

Lovok

Signs and Portents might be a better choice. Or even Chrysalis.

tyranusfan

Okay, just updated to Target Demographic... I'm grabbing for that Star Trek Continues carrot you guys just dangled...

David Wayne Fox

I’ve watched a couple of them, definitely something to check out as a one-off after everything else and the reactions will be priceless.

Paul Rymer

Nope

Josh (Target Audience)

Hahahah

Josh (Target Audience)

You guys would probably enjoy Battlestar Galactica more once you’ve watched Deep Space Nine.

Ron Hubbard Jr

Did they see Lifeforce yet?

Paul Rymer

The Prisoner is a great pick, very creative show. I saw it on a rerun in the 1990s and was captivated.

Paul Rymer

Trouble is, with the exception of one or two eps, S1 is not that great. I suppose Passing Through Gethsemane could be considered a standalone. Late Delivery from Avalon could also serve.

Linda Thackeray

That was during their pilot break where they just watched pilots. If something got enough views, they'd keep going for the first season. The Gathering, from what I understand is not the most beloved part of B5... though at the end of it they did say they liked it, even if it didn't grab them. Personally I fell asleep during that pilot two times before getting through it the third time. "Midnight on the Firing Line" however...

Nolan

Yeah, I'd totally love to see more BSG reactions, but it would be lackluster or impossible on a one-off

Elusive

The Prisoner, the 1967–1968 British television series, is definitely worth watching at some point as there are only 17 episodes. My Starlog magazine guide rated the original series of Star Trek zero to 5 stars for each episode -- sort of like what you have been doing with your S through E tiers for Star Trek: the Next Generation. However, their rating for Star Trek the original series were almost equally distributed, or perhaps more like a bell curve with few ratings at the extremes. However, they rated almost all the episodes of The Prisoner as 4-star or 5-star. That amazed me! I had seen part of an episode or two on late night television. Then one day about 30 years ago Harlan Ellison of "City on the Edge of Forever" fame hosted about a 24-hour long marathon of The Prisoner on the Sci-Fi Channel. I remember that I finally had to go to sleep near the end of the 24-hour marathon and had to hope that my VCR recorded the last few episodes. You probably can't get access to Harlan Ellison's between-episode and commercial-break commentary, but it was really helpful. I think there is a really controversy about what order you are suppose to watch the episodes. Wikipedia lists 6-different episode orders -- production order, UK/ITC release order (which appears incorrect), US release order, A&E order, ITC re-release order, and PBS KTEH order as arranged by someone known for his analysis of The Prisoner; I think the first episode should always be first and the last two episodes should always be last though. The episodes are 50 minutes long, so you might find it slow. It was apparently filmed the same time as Star Trek the original series, but British television and the show's pacing might make it seem slower or even much slower. Just remember that they probably had a low budget, and any special effects in 1960s Britain were probably rather crude.

Chtphr Rrr

OMWF and The Body are both masterpieces but would be bad choices for them since they have only watched the first season. Hush would be the best choice since it works as a standalone.

Menty

They have watched it and didn't get past the first movie.

Linda Thackeray

I'm sorry but WTF? This might be one of the worst suggestions possible. The episode is the culmination of a lot of story progression and growing conflicts and is a major turning point in the series. It does not work as a standalone episode at all, all it would achieve is be confusing and also spoiling a lot of stuff should they ever decide to watch the show.

Phillip Grischa

The TNG bloopers are pretty good, the pizza stuff on the season 2 reel is hilarious. But Star Trek Continues? That sounds more like a threat than an incentive.

Phillip Grischa

Babylon 5 - Severed Dreams.

Linda Thackeray

Battlestar is a show that builds on previous episodes... sure, I could tell you a few episodes to watch, but you'd spend most of the reaction distracted by playing catch-up to where the characters move to. Especially since every episode contains some amount of relevency. If it's not 2x01, then there's no point. And 2x01 isn't even that strong an episode, relatively.

Nolan

Be careful, Continues is excellent but it hardly holds itself to TOS era plot points, it will spoil a bit of Voyager and refers to the later movies, Generations at least, if memory serves.

Alan Thompson

Twin peaks

Captain’s Log

Seconded.

Linda Thackeray

A couple years ago we watched a bunch of pilot episodes and then watched the first season of the ones that performed best which were Buffy and The Walking Dead. We would’ve watched more if it had performed better than either of those. I think it was third place iirc. We weren’t big fans of the first episode but the ending of it was obviously intriguing

Josh (Target Audience)

This one is actually really good. I even liked the reboot

Phil Ken Sebben

Oh, man you only did one episode of The Expanse! While I do understand, since it is a slow burn of a season, you are missing one of the greatest Sci-Fi shows ever.

Mark

V (1983)

Todd Pritchett

I vote to make them watch Red October again ;)

Doug

Hush IMO. I would add "becoming". I wouldn't want them to see the body only because I hope they pick it up again and having that spoiled would really put a damper on things.

Matthew Ganz

Oh Hush for sure. If they don't love that one then it's a lost cause.

Dru Blood

Young and the restless!

Phil Ken Sebben

3 likely choices: Once more with Feeling, The Body, or Hush?

Thomas Cole

Columbo!

James H

You guys are so much fun. It's late Friday night, and I'm going to upgrade.

Steve Brant

WOW! The possibilities are endless! I'm thinking of The Green Hornet for some insane reason.

Owen Madden

I've got just the episode of buffy for you.

Matthew Ganz
