TNG S3 AWARDS - Best Guest Appearance

The winner will be one of the 5 nominees, but put your honorable mentions in the comments!

NOTE - This award focused on one-off guest appearances. Recurring guest characters did not qualify.

Comments

For me, Denise Crosby beats Mark Lenard's return by the slimmest of margins.

Truecoat

Dwight Schultz as Lt. Barclay, obviously.

Aaron Wells

All of these were amazing

Jeremy S

Strong runner up and often overlooked: John Anderson as Kevin Uxbridge in “The Survivors”. The fact that man pulled off that performance only weeks after losing his own wife is nothing short of amazing. The pain when he says “Oh how I wish I could’ve died with her” is real. A good actor disappears into their character. A great actor allows their vulnerability to be bared for all to see.

Column Meanie

My honorable mention goes to the actor who played the leader of the terrorist in the high ground. There was something about the subtlety of his performance in which he seemed like a really normal guy, especially the crusher scenes, but you knew he was bent beyond redemption, his performance was not as flamboyant or outstanding as some of the others, but it was just as strong because of it’s subtlety After all it took Picard, reminding Beverlly that her son might well be dead due to this man, Affirming his unwavering concern and support for his ship and crew, while being completely in the dark as two the fate of the ship and crew’ at that moment and being brutally honest with Beverlly to draw her focus into the situation The terrorist leaders dichotomy of character is very unusual

Thicketdweller

Honourable mention to KEN JENKINS as dr Stubbs… 😂🖖🏻

Trayolphia

Hallie Todd was incredible, and obviously Mark Lenard, but I voted for Denise because she proved with the proper writing, yes she is a good actress.

Glenn Johnson Barnes

Kurn was my choice!

Ian Westcott

All of these are great, no question. James Sloyan as Jarok is top-tier for me and Mark Lenard as Sarek is beyond reproach, but I have to give it to Hallie Todd as Lal. It would have been so easy for that character to go wrong, but she nails it, not just in her line delivery, but also her physicality and movements as well. And her ending scene with Data makes me cry every single time. Honourable mentions: Dwight Schultz as Lt. Barclay, and Christopher McDonald as Richard Castillo. Also I would be remiss to not highlight the moment when John Anderson as Kevin Uxbridge breaks down at the end of The Survivors, which I still find quite moving.

Ryan Caulfield

Just don't confuse "tolerate" with "respect".

Jovet

Honourable Mention: Nicolas Coster as Admiral Haftel in The Offspring, perhaps, the most three dimensional Admiral in Trek thus far.

James Knight

A shame how good this list is, cause Kurn really was pretty awesome. Some of the stuff aboard the Enterprise in the beginning was hilarious.

Rod Gallow

Oh I know. I respect their opinion even when I disagree with it. The ribbing is just for fun.

Jason the Dave

"too soon"

Jovet

Face it, Jason, they hate him. Not a worthy battlefield, this one.

Jovet

did you all notice when he gave his speech on his poor fake upbringing he actually shed a real tear when doing so. its hard to see but good acting

Narnman

same for pretty much the same reasons

Narnman

Honorable mention: Ken Jenkins as Dr. Stubbs. Yeah, that's right, FIGHT ME.

JGoss

Brian Dennehy's daughter Elizabeth knows how to establish a conflict character that you can't hate

C

It elevates when you know the circumstances and realize he did it with no prep

C

I would have voted for Dwight Schulz but since he is not in the vote I'll say Sloyan as Jarok. Imo Lenard didn't have to do that much acting-wise and people are biased towards him. Stewart did the real work in Sarek.

Guts

Honestly, Hallie Todd as Lal….wow. Honorable mention guys. Very tough performance to pull off. She brings me to tears.

Chris S.

I’ll lose but I’m going with Hallie Todd. She created a character so full of wonder, joy, and heartbreak, all in one episode.

Column Meanie

Dang this is a really tough one! I went with Jarok.

Rod Gallow

It's Hallie Todd for me, I've watched and edited this episodes so many times and every time it still breaks my heart.

Robert Bruce

THANK YOU both!! I've never kept his name in my head for some reason. Great episode!

StonyD

Low key underrated

Josh (Target Audience)

Tough choices. I've already changed mine.

Collin Freeman

Stacked indeed, TA. Tough choices, all worthy.

Collin Freeman

I'm sure it's 'most likeable character we hope will return' or something xD

JHVJ

Don’t worry he’s nominated for another award….

Josh (Target Audience)

Didn’t realize they had the same last name until making this list lol

Josh (Target Audience)

Fajo ain’t making this list bruh 💀

Josh (Target Audience)

I think Dwight Schultz should get at least an honourable mention for Barclay. Out of the above I went with Hallie Todd, but it was a tough choice.

Lincynity

I am shocked, nay, appalled, that Kivas Fajo (played by the great Saul Rubinek) was unjustly excluded from this list. UNSUBSCRIBE. Seriously though, had to go with Hallie Todd. New character to tears in 43 minutes. Great stuff.

Jason the Dave

Sarek steals the show in every scene. When I was younger, I didn't truly appreciate this episode. I do now. Watching important people lose their faculties, yet refuse to vacate important positions... nothing less than embarrassing.

THE Fans

Romulan Admiral Jarok wrestling with morality and romulan subterfuge as he sacrifices all he has achieved to try to create a better world for his daughter to grow up in.

Paul Hess

Mark Lenard is top guest star. Honorable mentions to James Sloyan for being the best guest Romulan, and Hallie Todd for suspending my disbelief that she and Brent Spiner could be related.

dkenobi

As much as I love Tasha and her appearance in Yesterday's Enterprise, I had to go with Sarek. Reprising the role from original Trek to here and a damn good performance of an aging Vulcan. 👍👍

Dru Blood

Duped Romulan traitor.

J Potter

It’s Monday at work so I’m in a Kurn vibe right now.

Paul Rymer

......who the f is "Jarok"? lol Why can't I remember?

StonyD

Were it not for Mark Leonard, my vote would have been Hallie - so tough

Jeffrey

Really tough poll, they were all great and crucially you can tell they worked well with the cast and production to make excellent episodes.

Paul Rymer

Oof! I love me some Todd's (Hallie and Tony). But the OG Sarek himself is hard to top. (and if I'm being honest, Denise Crosby was the least impressive thing about YE)

StonyD

That is true.

Just another Red Shirt

whaaa? Dr Stubbs not on the list? Criminal... :P

JHVJ

This one so hard. Mark Lenard as Sarek gets my vote, but that only because Denise Crosby has actually been an awesome supporter of Star Trek over all the years since, so she might not qualify. I play STO, and turns out she's a great voice actor.

SageGreenGoat

Had to vote for Hallie Todd, but please someone show some love to Tony Todd 😅

SinocTheHodgeheg

Shelby

John M.

STACKED nominee class

Josh (Target Audience)

If I could vote twice, I would. I went for Denise Crosby, because it gives her character a better end than she had originally, and it was great to see her back. But Mark Lenard also does a great job, and he plays the same character he did in TOS, so he also deserves my vote.

John

She hasn't been in season 3, only season 2.

Mara

How can you do this to me? Each row I am ready to say "Yes, that's the one!" but then along comes the next row. No matter who I vote for it will be a disservice to the other ones.

Paul Hess

Kaylar just kidding it’s Sarek
