I like that the show highlights the difference between officers and enlisted men with Chief being extremely senior at around 30 years old to the point he really can’t be formally punished due to lack of experienced replacements. The officers skew toward his age or older, but most of the enlisted are young 20’s.

2024-06-28 00:31:42 +0000 UTCSo, do you guys think Tyrol suspects Sharon? Almost a shame the Caprica side plot exists because without it, the viewer would get to be in the Chief's shoes with the same information wondering the same things. Instead we're fed a conclusion.

2024-06-27 03:53:28 +0000 UTCRon Moore hated how space adventure shows always fell into the trap of having an authority figure (starfleet, the quorum of twelve) who exists just to give stupid orders to the heroes. We can see here that even if Roslin isn't always right, she has a political savvy that Adama lacks, and they can complement each other when they work together.

2024-06-27 03:45:43 +0000 UTCIn reality, the sergeant was more correct that she knew, because the kid was covering for the chief, and the chief was covering for Boomer (he had to have known she would be hanged if they found out), and Boomer is supposedly a Cylon who does things without remembering.

I think the Master-at-Arms character tried to push as far as she did cause the truth is, whatever outside circumstances were, her security measures were still lax enough for someone to steal a bunch of explosives. But she couldn't be responsible, oh no, it had to be a conspiracy at the highest level. Okay, sure.
