Love tier lists! Would certainly watch for each season and TAS

2024-04-05 19:25:25 +0000 UTCI don't mean they should watch a season of each and switch over or anything close to it. I meant maybe one week do 2 eps of one and 2 eps of another the next week. I personally felt the tonal whiplash going back and forth myself when it was airing and dropped Voyager as a result to focus on DS9. And I have attempted a "release order" watch when I decided to rewatch the whole franchise some years back (which is how I finished Voyager)and I experienced that same feeling again when those two series were on. Couldn't wait to get back to the DS9 story. Was rolling my eyes at Voyager. Your mileage may vary but I've heard others express the same opinion. Plus they'd have to constantly switch out their DVDs every sitting.

2024-04-04 17:03:22 +0000 UTCDisagree completely; I think watching TNG, DS9, and VGR in air order is definitely the best approach. I'm not sure why "tonal whiplash" would even be a problem - it certainly wasn't for those of us who watched these week to week when they were first airing.

2024-04-04 16:49:19 +0000 UTCI'm perplexed as well. What, do people think they're going to somehow be confused by watching shows at the same time? "Hey, what's with this space station? Where's the Enterprise?" Release order is how we all watched them when they aired. There are things introduced first in DS9 that then come into TNG, or vice versa. It's undoubtedly the best way to watch them.

2024-04-04 02:22:13 +0000 UTCRegarding the overlap strict reacting in order that was mentioned in a super chat in the regular livestream, I think people are curious about it because the tone is so different between the different shows. Like, watching 1 episode of DS9 and then 1 of Voyager (since they overlapped more than any other show and would air episodes in the same weeks) is complete tonal whiplash like you wouldn't believe. Not going to tell you how to run your channel but some flexibility on that may make it more enjoyable for everyone when the time comes.
