Kurt Russell Opens the Gate for a Sci-Fi Franchise

I think the extended pilot would probably be a good way for them to take the temperature of the show, and see if it’s something they’d eventually want to watch. It’s essentially like a movie reaction with the length and cinematic look of it, but you get a good feel for the actors, the writing, the universe, etc. And if they aren’t feeling it, then they’ll know. I second this suggestion.

Are there I would love for you to do a reaction for the pilot episode of sg1 the series is actually a sequel to the film so they don't ignore it fyi I believe they have all the episodes on Amazon prime

Brian Clark

Ok cool. I did respond to that poll as I didn’t know that you didn’t make cut versions. Personally I think it’s a great idea and maybe would draw more people to your channel and page. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it Wednesday.

It is being considered, but we are still evaluating what’s best to do. There was actually a poll earlier this week about this exact topic. The reactions were meant to be only full uncut exclusive to Patreon, but that may change. I’ll go more into this in my upcoming live stream on Wednesday

Are you considering doing an Audience cut to your reactions on these movies like you do with Star Trek?

TalynStarburst

In 2037 when you finally finish watching all the Star Trek stuff, it'd be great to have you go through all the Stargate content too. There is some great stuff in there. One of my favorite sci-fi franchises.

Mark Moran

It’s been considered. Would like the series to hit its groove before throwing in non-feature films, but it’s a definite future possibility. May also just end up reacting to it for YouTube at some point as its own thing

Josh (Target Audience)

Stargate is one of my all time favorites! How dare you guys not like it as much as me ;) Ha. Just kidding, guys

Random aside, you mentioned Battlestar Galactica, I know a lot of people have suggested that you watch the remake series of that, but there's a middle ground: the 2003 miniseries was roughly the length of a film (albeit a long one) at 180 minutes (two episodes of 90 minutes). While the rest of the remake series follows from there, the miniseries works standalone without the rest of the series. Might be something to consider for an audience cut, get the gist of it in one sitting without committing to a whole series.

If the aliens are cool, we send Amy Adams. If they're not cool, send em Kurt fuckin Russell.

Juan Tutrífor

Damn, those alien bastards are gonna pay for stealing my nerdy side kick!

Bro is NOT Duke Nukem

"Give my regards to King Tut, asshole!" - Jack "Duke Nukem" O'neil.

In the year 2525.. If man is still alive... If woman can survive...

I loved the movie, but I agree you should stay away of the shows for now. SG1 was an excellent series (obviously, or it wouldn't have lasted 10 seasons), but I'd like you to get to Star Trek Enterprise before the end of the next decade. The only exception I would make is for the newer Battlestar Galactica. Love your channel ❤️

startrekiborg

And not anytime soon. It will take several years to get through Star Trek.

Jovet

I'm not saying you *should* watch the shows, because, I mean, your plates are full until the 2080s with Star Trek, but it's worth knowing that the tone of the show is very different from the film, and that's as much as I'll say to avoid spoiling anything.

Adam Zey

It's important that the guards weren't actually animal-headed aliens, but just humans in masks. The natives weren't going to be ready to rebel until they realized they were just fighting other people, and not gods.

Jeff Cornell

Yes correct, not right now is what we meant

Josh (Target Audience)

So…that part where you said “I know people want us to watch the shows, but…we’re not”…you still mean at least right now, right? Because of how much Trek? It is still on the “Someday later if we’re still doing the channel after Trek is over” list, right? I hope it’s not been taken off that list because you didn’t love the movie that much, because the shows…are truly something special.
