There is one kinda (in)famous TNG episode focused entirely on child characters coming in season 6, and I can't wait for your reaction. It's "so bad it's good" in my opinon. Other than that I wouldn't say Star Trek and kids don't mix. We have some amazing parent-child relationship stuff throughout TNG and DS9.
