When you get as far into Star Trek as the ENTERPRISE prequel series (which takes place a century before TOS and stars Scott Bakula), you will find a sci-fi sequel to this episode, and a surprise ending to what happens to the USS Defiant. It's quite interesting, and here's hoping you continue your exploration of all that Star Trek has become as the months go on. The Tholian Web has become a great source of back-story for which other, future stories in the 'Trek universe are based upon or are referenced to. It's an intriguing adventure, that for us who saw it in its First-Run on NBC in the 60's, begged for more on who the Tholians are.
