PATREON EXCLUSIVE UNCUT REACTION - Battlestar Galactica (1978) Episode 11 - The Young Lords

"The Return of Starbuck" might be worth a look.

The 2 of them especially Josh are barely invested in the original Battlestar Galactica and you just know that with how badly it played out they would stop watching it after the first couple episodes. They may or may not react to the final episode but as they said they liked Starbuck I thought they might like to see what happened to him but as they are pretty strict on what they watch and in which order and like how they loved Farscape but aren't reacting to it they most likely won't watch any of Galactica and simply move onto the 2003 reboot.

I for one would definitely like to see them react to Galactic 1980. Yes, of course I agree the series was very bad, however there are some interesting things that happened in the episodes and the Halloween episode is fun considering you also get two stars from the Dark Shadows series as well as Wolfman Jack. You also get concepts that would show up in the reboot. Also by watching the series it would alleviate a million questions they would have while watching the Return of Starbuck. That way they can enjoy the episode instead of talking all through it and being super confused. It would also be fun to see them watch the actual three-part opening episode were they arrive at Earth. Perhaps they would even recognize the actor who plays Xavier.

Rory OToole

I hate to say it but yea, I remember that second season as a turn off even to an enthusiastic, watch any and all scifi, 12 year old

Ricky Johnson

Yes, that last one is the only 1980 episode that feels like true classic Galactica.

As Starbuck has grown on you guys I still stand firm on not watching Galactica 1980 however the final episode of it entitled The Return of Starbuck is definitely the kind of send off his character deserved it is an emotional and heart felt tribute. Am certain my fellow Patreon viewers who've seen it would agree so before you move onto the 2003 reboot miniseries you should watch that final episode if you can.

The actress who played Miri (gee I wonder where in sci-fi they got that name πŸ˜†) was also a guest star in numerous shows but other than here what I remember her from is the 1979 (also by Glenn A. Larson) sci-fi classic Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

Brad Barter

Ahhh, Audrey Landers (Miri). Sigh. She was a fairly common fixture on prime-time network shows in the late 70's and early 80's. Always loved just watching her. She could read a phone book and I would have been entranced. Not having seen these episodes in at least 20 years, I have forgotten more than I remember. The fact Miri is a main character's name in this 'ode to the lost children from Peter Pan' and the Star Trek Miri episode was an homage to Lord of the Flies makes for some interesting comparisons and contrasts. I hear what you are saying about the 2-parter episodes. As I recall, the 2-parters do improve. Looking forward to seeing your reactions to the next one.

By this point they’ve pretty much settled on meanings for their time measurements. Micron for a second, centon for a minute, centar/centare for an hour, and then there’s secton and sectar… I think both of those mean a week.

It was the director's idea to have the Cylons walk through the water.... What he didn't know was that the suits weren't waterproof. About five Cylon costumes were ruined and had to be remade.

James H

One math answer for two questions. The answer is 8. The questions are: 1. How many planets has Starbuck crashed on? 2. How many kids does Starbuck have? (okay I am estimating 8 lol)

The face of horror every time the chimp is on screen makes it for me
