January Updates

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

If you are reading this, then thank you for joining us on Patreon in 2023!

Want to start with an announcement - we are now offering annual subscriptions for our Patreon. So, if you think you'll be sticking around as a Patron, and you want to get the whole year out of the way instead of the monthly charge, you can opt for that option. Annual memberships come with a 10% discount! For more questions regarding this, we would refer you to the Patreon support page - https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042152671-Annual-membership-details

Now onto what is coming this month!

We have received many suggestions and requests from our Patrons as well as our YouTube audience, and this month we are going to check some of those out! These reactions will include Babylon 5, Farscape, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, & more! These new reactions will be uncut here on Patreon, and edited for YouTube. These will all just be one-off reactions for now, but any of them may return as a recurring series in the future if we find anything we have interest in continuing.

There will also be our next installment of both '90-Minute Classics' & 'Our Favorite Movies'

You can expect AT LEAST 3 reactions for Battlestar Galactica 1978

Uncut & edited reaction to the Firefly movie Serenity as well as a 'Whatever This Is' recap episode on the show.

Lastly, for Star Trek this month:

We will be releasing our Season 2 Star Trek TOS recap episode of 'Whatever This Is', and will also be posting several more uncut reactions to Season 1 episodes.

We will be starting Season 3 of Star Trek TOS the first week of February, and we will be watching it twice a week! So while we are taking a break from it this month, it will be back in just a few weeks with a faster pace than ever to finish the show!

TLDR - here is everything you can expect this month:

As always, feel free to leave questions and feedback in the comments! Thank you for being a Patron!

B5 is a favorite, will join for that. Many people have tried to get me to watch Buffy, maybe this time I will yield to the pressure. There are some good non-scifi shows out there - has anyone ever mentioned MASH? One of the few shows to pull off funny and deadly serious at the same time.

Yeah everything will be decided as we get to it and our personal schedule at the time. Specifically season 3 of TOS and the animated series we do want to watch at a quick pace so we can start watching the movies by the Summer

After TOS we will be watching the animated series, the movies, etc. but do what you gotta do Ken no worries!

You said that "Buffy" will be a one-off. I need to point out that the first two episodes, "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and "The Harvest", are two halves of a single story, with the first episode ending on a cliffhanger. You really can't watch the first episode without also watching the 2nd one. (Of course, I hope you both get enough out of it to continue watching the rest of the series.) This is similar to the original pilot of "Firefly", which originally aired as two 45-min halves with the first half ending on a cliffhanger and the second half airing a week later. On the DVDs and streaming platforms they are combined into a single 87-minute episode.

I will be bowing out of the page after ST, as none of those other shows on the menu hold much interest for me. TV in the 90s starts to fall under the influence of FRIENDS, where people all start sounding alike with tv banter.

Considering how much Star Trek content is available, I'm very happy to hear that we will be getting two episodes every week. I'm hoping this applies to all of the Star Trek shows, and not just the original series.
