SUBJECT: Karlsson's Gambit 0.4 Update
Hi all! Hope everyone had a nice Christmas or holidays if you are celebrating! A lot of my family are not around after Monday, and a few more are staying until after New Years Day, but it will calm down a lot for me this week.
My plan for this week is to do the two/three person render scenes for this month, work hard on the game with the new PC, and port/transfer over a lot of assets to the new PC from the old one. From talking to another dev having done this same thing, I am going to have a few hiccups as the version of Daz I am using is a beta version (old version cannot use my video card) and it has a few little issues...but overall, I think I should be ok. I did manage to test some renders on the new PC beyond the Christmas one. (hope you all enjoyed that one!)
While I didn't manage to work all week on the game due to this week being very unique with Christmas and family craziness, I did manage to put in some time yesterday and got to try the new card/PC. I think people are going to be surprised how productive I hopefully can be once I can free up some real time! My workflow this week was not based on a normal 7 days of stuff here and there, but only three small sessions which is less than 1.5 full days of normal effort from me. (about 10 hours) These renders were designed with the old PC in mind, but I did render them on the new PC. In my wildest dreams, I could NEVER produce 5 renders (creating and then rendering) in a single hour but I did that yesterday. So keep that in mind :)
Weekly Workflow: (12/21/2020 to 12/27/2020):
Tess: 50 renders, 2,000 words
Anais: OFF (free soon)
Overall Progress: 456 renders, 14,800 words
This is getting close to my original 0.1 size. I'm definitely faster than before as getting close to this point took me a bit over 2 months for 0.1. By my math, I am pretty much about a month and three or so weeks from when I wrote the first scene for 0.4. (Nov 8 by my notes)
I think I will be much farther along on January 8, especially with new PC, but we shall see! I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of 2020 and an even better 2021!
