And I'm still rooting for 'Ready or Not'... which falls somewhere in-between. And I wouldn't mind a b&w classic like 'Arsenic and Old Lace', or 'Psycho'.

2025-09-08 18:03:17 +0000 UTCOh my gosh... yes. 'The Haunting' (1963) scared the bejeezus out of me when I was a kid. (The hand holding scene!!) The other one that gave me nightmares was a tv movie called - 'Dont Be Afraid of the Dark' (1973). *shudder* And I absolutely agree... I keep hoping for more 'Arsenic & Old Lace' reactions. Holds up so well, better than a lot of modern movies.

2025-09-07 22:49:56 +0000 UTCThere are are only two movies that I found really frightening. They are older movies, but the fear came from what is not seen. The Haunting 1963 and The Entity 1982. But, if looking for a more lighthearted film that takes place on Halloween I would suggest Arsenic and Old Lace 1944.

I had no interest in this series, but when my daughter was young she had taped all of them to VHS and asked me to catalogue the episodes so she would know what season. So I did and I found I really enjoyed it so much I actually bought entire series on DVD.

If Trin loved Charmed (which she's mentioned) she will like Buffy imo. It would be great for October! Season one is a bit...underwhelming...but the rest of the seasons are great!
