This is one of my favourite movies, I think it's hard to sell it to someone because it's quite tragic yet somehow very funny. I'd love to know how much was ad-libbed because there's a few stand up comedians in the movie.

Grif Kane

Must. Watch. Deliverance. If Superman is your only reference for Ned Beatty. Can’t believe you haven’t seen it. So good!

Beth

I saw the subtitles but not during the whole movie.

Kamanda Hickey

Totally forgot Can't Get Right became Shocker!

Ae Jae Meade

Dunno if you know (or if you mention it later, commenting as he shows up) the baseball scout is Dr. Edwin Jenner from Walking Dead CDC

Ae Jae Meade

So happy to see you guys react to a movie I grew up with! Glad you liked it. I often enjoy these films filled with several comedians and comedic actors just interacting with each other. Movies like this give so much context to the history of the Black experience, especially here in America. And they masterfully did it in an accurate, but funny way.

the continent

Yeah I can't explain that xD 100% subs are on tho haha

Weird. I downloaded the movie and I didn't get a single subtitle the entire time...

Angelina Sargent

We had subs on, I just checked. Glad you enjoyed the movie <3

I just finished the movie with you guys and that was so funny and gut wrenching at the same time. I wish you guys had the subtitles on for the movie but I definitely got the gist. Your comment, Rob, in the outro about your friend and the time travel question gave me an insane amount of goosebumps when you told us his answer. I ask that question randomly to people I know too and I have never heard that answer before. It literally reminded me that I have all this white privilege that made me feel like I haven't really had to consider the safety aspect of that answer. Even as a woman I've never considered that where ever I go, I could be in danger and how scared so many people used to be and still are today. It shows how ignorant white people can be that we don't even have that fear or hypervigilance to be nervous about a scenario others live daily, and it is such a mind fuck when you think about it. We have grown away from this way of thinking and living but not remotely enough considering that ALL people of color still have to be on a defense to this day.

Angelina Sargent

For more accurate american race stuff: a time to kill which i keep recommending lmao

Vonnie Stewart

In my top 5 of all time! No particular order. Life, interstellar, goodfellas, lotr two towers and fifth element

Mike Rose

If you’re up for another excellent Eddie Murphy comedy, you have to watch Bowfinger with him and Steve Martin. It’s my favorite comedy movie of all time! You will not be sorry!

christine minihane

I'm so glad the two of you enjoyed Life, because it's one of my favorite movies ever. The baseball recruiter looks familiar, because he played Dr. Edwin Jenner at the CDC in The Walking Dead. Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are fantastic as Ray and Claude. By the way, cornbread is delicious.

Phyllis 2284

One heck of a movie. It needs to be seen because it was such an unfair reality for so long. Heck it still happens! The humor makes the poignant story more palatable.

Vonnie Stewart

I have never heard of this movie... lol

Angelina Sargent

Never watched or heard of this one! Time to watch it for the first time together ❤️

Michelle Schaefer

What a good choice of movies. When the first scenes happened, I thought 'I saw this, and forgot.,' but as the story went on, I realized I hadn't finished it. Weird, 'cause I never start a movie with Eddie Murphy, and not finish it. I was thinking the same...that the baby boy was playing baseball now, just like his dad. But then again, even he would've been too old to be playing at that point in time. What a ride! So good. Thanks for choosing it.

angie808

So happy you've reacted to this movie. I really enjoyed it the first time I watched it years ago.

Sarah

Fantastic reaction and I enjoyed this movie again ...havnt seen it in years hope the both of u will do more films with Eddie and check out the equalizer franchise with Denzel. Yes Rob to answer your question unfortunately racism was horrible during those times in the states and it's still goin on today. More covert than back then but it's still overt

Rashad Walker

What a great choice, this movie makes me tear up every time I watch it.

Kamanda Hickey

Oh man, that was so good! So many familiar faces: that detective guy from Better Call Saul, Mike's old friend. That guy from Spider-Man: Homecoming, shocker 2, and Also that white dude who granted freedom to Shocker 2. And man! Black women are hot! 😁 The story, the writing, the acting—everything was great. And I love this type of subject. Today's society is too sensitive, but we should face the brutal reality because of not repeating the same in the future in any kind.

Dude

I forgot how much I liked this movie.

Anika

This was the song played for this movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjmczgqVNc8&ab_channel=TheOurson97

Anika

This is such a happy surprise!

Vonnie Stewart

Im so happy you guys did this! I figured it wouldn't get many votes and this is why you guys have the best youtube/Patreon out. This a absolute classic film and now other people can witness it

james moore

Omg I remember I suggested this movie to you guys. Thank you for this ❤️
