FIRST TIME WATCHING Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (2003) Reaction!

Comments

Orlando could have done most of his own sword fighting. I don't know if he did, but he'd have been well up for it. In the blacksmiths place, where Will has the sword fight with Sparrow, Orlando has a tattoo on his wrist that the fellowship of the cast of LOTR got done, which accidentally comes into view. So, that scene was after he had done a huge amount of training. Legolas can get the stuff done in terms of fighting with weapons, and Elves in general have a beautiful style of movement. Orlando trained for weeks so he could wield the white knives, so we know he can dual-wield.

We can make a streamable link for this one, be patient and we will get it sorted 💕💕💕💕

well I really wanted to watch this but then I noticed that it's Sync.com. I hate this player. It just WON'T. START. Maybe it's working for other people but not for me 🤣😪 So annoying. I'm really glad I can watch your more recent reactions with streamable. Never have any problems with that one.

Ninaofthe90s

The pirate that Orlando faces about 35 minutes into the film (just after Elizabeth gets Parleyed in the closet), is the guy that played Kano in the 1995 film Mortal Kombat. Once you hear his voice, you can't unhear it :D. "Say GOODBYE!"

adam99x

YES! Trin would love that movie. And props to Leonardo DeCaprio. The first time I watched it I seriously couldn't tell (no spoilers) whether it was acting or whether it was real. Just soo well done.

Ish

You have to watch Johnny Depp in What’s eating Gilbert Grape

Pamela Robinson

I always thought the first movie in this trilogy was the very best. Although the sequels are enjoyable. When it first came out, nobody thought this was going to be such a good movie as it did take its inspiration from a long time ride at Disney World. There are actual bits in the movie that are a tribute to that ride. One of the best ones is the dog in the jail with the keys. There is a moment in the ride where you go past a scene just like that. And then the scene in Tortuga with the whole town being a wild scene is similar to bits of the ride as well. This movie came out in the middle of the years that the Lord of the Rings trilogy was released. So between the two franchises Orlando Bloom’s career started with a bang. Peter Jackson was still trying to settle on the design for the Army of the Dead in Lord of the Rings, Return of the King when this movie came out and it had some minor influences on his plans, as he didn’t want to have anything look too similar between the films as they were released so close together. And apparently Johnny Depp used Keith Richards mannerisms, as well as a bit of his appearance, for inspiration for the character of Jack Sparrow.

Blackeyedlily

Definitely watch the first 3 as its a great trilogy I also really like the 4th and 5th as they are fun side stories with the 5th being more connected with the story of the first 3 with a pretty satisfying ending so would be cool to see those reactions too

Josh B.

Been quite a while since I've watched these! And wow, they're holding up great. Watching this along with you was fun as always. Go for the rest of the PoTC films aswell!

Gilstead

this was so fun! one of my fave trilogies (i only consider the first 3 cannon lol!). definitely watch all 3 and yeah, poor Rob if you jumped in only seeing #3. That's like watching Avengers Endgame without the other avengers movies...you'd have no CLUE on who these folks are and why you should CARE. (that's not spoiling anything, of course any conclusion is only made amazing by what happens leading up to it.)

Glad you enjoy 🥰

😂😂 so funny lol, love lonely island 🙈

This was a great watch you two ❤️. You guys have got to watch this Saturday Night Live (SNL) skit. Its a classic here in the states. Most (adults) can't think PotC w/o thinking of this skit 🤣 I think you would get a good laugh, especially Rob. No need to react...lol just enjoy 💕 https://youtu.be/GI6CfKcMhjY

Katie Young

Yes do all the pirates films

Kim Magee

Please do the rest of them! I'm so glad y'all liked this one!

Rob, As I say always, especially with movies that I had no desire to see, even on other Patreon channels, you and Trin make me feel like I am with 2 best friends at the theater watching every single show. I mean that in a sincere way. For some reason you and Trin don't pull the focus from anything you react to,which is a rare gift you both should be proud of. I know at least twice I have tried to watch this first film but on other channels, but I couldn't get into the film for one reason or another, but now I say go for it, please. I want to go on this journey with you two and all the others who support your work and dedication in doing this. I know that coordination with you and Trin is hard because of work schedules and being in two different countries as well, but I am willing to let it flow and sail away (as Enya sings) to whatever you decide to do. You have my full throated support.

I haven't seen these movies in many, many years. I loved them alot, but my boys would watch it over & over again, when it first came out on video, so I guess I got tired of it. It is nice to see it again with you guys. I think the movie where you might have "perved" over the actress who plays Annamaria, is in her role in Star Trek. She played Lt. Uhura. Or maybe it was Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy.

angie808

Dead man's chest is my favourite pirates film, its hilarious

Josh Ashford

Oh yes! Been waiting for this one lol. I still have POTC posters on my wall. Bold claim, but I think I gotta say it's my favorite franchise. Can't wait to watch the next with y'all! ...I just realized my profile pic... guess that gives it all away lmao

Ethan

I agree, you should watch the first three. The 2nd is actually my favorite. The third is more serious, less fun but still good.

Linda Cannarsa

I vote Yes on the other movies! This is a great series! Johnny Depp at his best!

LoriRae

Definitely do the rest of the films! Love to rewatch with you guys!

Jill NYC

we are doing it after BSG, give it 2 weeks <3 it was already planned :)

I wonder if Rob and Trin would like the series called Black Sails Probably edit to death for YouTube!

You know what I really love about you guys above all other reactors? If you say "We're going to give it an honest go", you actually mean it and you go in with an open mind. I really adore that about you <3

Eisbär

I’d 100% love to see you guys react to the rest of these movies. They’re all worth watching in my opinion

James

It's okay, I blame her too :)

Yess so amazing 😍 lol and obviously the 3rd is amazing but in context lol. Who watches movies out of order! Hahah I’ll just blame your ex😜 lol JK. But it’s like watching the 3rd lord of the rings or Harry Potter first, would be rly odd with no context lol. So excited to see u go through this journey:)

Michelle Leach

Thoroughly enjoyed this one! I love the lore of these movies. I like Jack Sparrow’s (pirate) way of life too. I also like what he told Will: “The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can't do.” Geoffrey Rush is excellent as Barbossa. Barbossa is sneaky and treacherous but not stupid. He and Jack think alike, in some cases. They're both very perceptive. They'd meet anyone for the first time and immediately figure them out. After I watched POTC 1-3, I had hoped they’d do a backstory of Jack and Barbossa for the 4th movie. I was curious what role Barbossa played in Jack’s early life as a pirate and if there’s is something more to their “falling out” other than the mutiny. I dunno, I felt that after Jack shot Barbossa, the look on his face was like he didn’t enjoy it or something.

Christine

It's up next after BSG, 1 more week of BSG and its done <3

Great reaction. I also liked this one as a comedy. If only there was a serious pirate oh TV series that was still humorous with amazing writing and fantastic character development. Where oh where could such a series be oh yeah Black Sails. I haven't plugged that one in a long time so this was to perfect not to throw it on.

Prof Moff

This was a lot of fun! I would say to definitely watch the first three Pirates films since it’s really a trilogy, with a good, cohesive story. After that, in my opinion, don’t bother. The others don’t stand up, and seem to only be made to continue bringing in money. Can’t wait to watch the second with you!

MaggieS61

Rumours are that Johnny Depp will do another Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney walked away (unofficially) because of the accusations of Amber turd and The Pirates of the Caribbean ride had a woman being sold in one of the scenes of the ride and these days that's not politically correct so they changed it to a scene with a red headed pirate the new pirates movie was supposed to be based on that red-headed female pirate played by Margot Robbie and Disney had claimed they were going to do a second one later with Depp but he knew nothing of it after Depp won the case against Amber Margot Robbie's pirates movie was dropped and Disney has begun negotiations with Depp who had said he would not do another pirates movie for 15 million dollars and 100 alpacas or something like that but I think for fans he will do it

Kim Magee

Ye I believe there is 5 movies in total but personally i like them all but the first 2 have always been my favorites

Superdork3k

I remember seeing this in theaters and loving it. Great movie.

Rebeccaf87

Yes, context matters. First three Pirates movies are one story and third one is conclusion, so to say. And I am sorry but Barbosa is my favorite character in this.

Dude

Seems there was a post credit scene we missed, I had a super quick scan but did not see it. The Monkey getting cursed was cool and we watched it on youtube <3

The first one was written as a standalone. But after it's success, part 2 and 3, were written to make sort of a "trilogy". Rob, I you saw part 3, that would be a direct continuation of the second part, which would explain your confusion :)

Chris B

'Is this deliberate?' You just summed up Captain Jack Sparrow in 3 words 😂 nobody will ever know for sure

Michael

Yay :) entertainment when the kids hit the sack

Kim Magee

Woohoo! <3
