Better Call Saul: S4E01 Smoke - First time watching!

Chuck could’ve just retired like a normal person and taken the teaching job that Howard offered, or offered to pay the extra malpractice insurance/do what they wanted by having someone with Chuck. Also, the insurance company would have found out about the bar hearing REGARDLESS. They are paid to find shit like that out and it's in their best interest to raise rates so they make more money. Jimmy may have expedited the process but they would've found out anyway. Yes Jimmy got his malpractice raised but that doesn’t equate to him being the reason Chuck killed himself. Anyone who says that is ignoring that Chuck is a grown man who is self aware and makes his own decisions. He CHOSE to sue HHM and turn his back on Howard who after jimmy was the only one who cared. He chose to sue his own firm. He chose not to accept retirement (he had been out of the office and out of court for almost 3 years so he needed to retire regardless) he’s lucky Howard waited as long as he did. Then he CHOSE to say that unbelievably shitty stuff to Jimmy when Jimmy tried to come by and check in on him and apologize and make peace. And then the final thing was he CHOSE to kick that lantern off the desk and kill himself. Neither Howard nor Jimmy are at fault for his suicide.

Jimmy also remembers the last thing Chuck said to him, which was that he never really cared about him. Of course that isn't a good reason for Jimmy to pin the blame on Howard, but he's too emotionally immature to accept responsibility for Chuck's suicide. So he does a 180 to repression instead.

What Jimmy did at the end was pretty unexpected for everyone. Jimmy saw the opportunity to deflect blame to someone else, and he took it. He is so scared of being at fault, that the moment someone said it's on them, he took the opportunity and started blaming them too.

Better Call Saul - main producer is Sony Pictures. Ordered by AMC and aired on AMC in US. Netflix was the distributor for other countries (where there's no AMC).

Also, yeah, Definitely a tone change at this point and the colors of the show become darker to reflect that. I remember the creators teasing that this season would be the darkest yet before it aired.

AFAIK the show was on AMC from start to finish in the US, but in other countries it aired on Netflix.

he paid all that money to the vip extractor vacuum guy lol, of course he has a social security number that isn't random. i'd go kill him if i paid like $250,000 and didn't have the right stuff
