I agree! Once they reveal she's the one who killed him, her entire personality made sense. How do you get close to your child when you know how it ends? I do feel like she could've told Daniel, though. If I knew my mom was going to kill me, but it was before she even gave birth to me, so she had no idea who I was & it was also to protect one of her own, that would make a big difference in how I'd feel about it.

Eloise tends to get villified by some. But I actually think she's quite amazing. She had to try to remain emotionally distant from Daniel, though you could see how it affected her, knowing what's meant to happen. She obviously believes in protecting the timeline. And she pays the highest cost for it... knowing all of Daniel's life what his destiny is. If Daniel doesn't go to the island... who saves Desmond in The Constant? Who helps them with Jughead? Who warns them right now that a catastrophic incident is coming? In 5x01, Chang says that if the massive energy is released, then "God help us all." In 5x02, when Ben asks Eloise what if they can't get all of the O6 to go back, Eloise responds with... then "God help us all." Seems like there may be a lot at stake that she lived through.
