re: Horror hitting different. Difference is when you're watching a horror movie you've only got probably 60 minutes o investment in characters before they are potentially in deadly peril.
In the new golden age of TV, a horror TV show hits different because you've literally got about 15 hours of investment in the characters who are in peril, and counting.
Also, without specific spoilers in a general sense re House of the Dragon but don't read if you've not seen GoT: As a Ice and Fire book nerd who's read a lot about the story of House of the Dragon and know it pretty intimately, you don't have anything to worry about, all the story exists from start to end planned and written by GRRM in Fire and Blood, none of it is secret and left to dumb showrunners to fk up because they have to make it up as they go along, and the story itself is really cool - being early Game of Thrones politics and intrigue heavy throughout, mixed with late Game of Thrones spectacle. Best of both worlds. The showrunners are really good too. I have every confidence.
