Getting rid of one lilliputian chopper is one thing, but fighting off a full-scale assault from a whole city's military is quite another thing. Was her dad still alive? Would Sophie grant her life if she somehow manage to still have a beating heart after two hours? Or was it all just an empty promise to ensure an interesting performance?
These were just some of the thoughts that raced through Eliza's mind as she stomped her way through urban streets while on the run for her approaching adversary, smashing cars and creating cracks in the road as her boots crashed upon fragile lilliputian property. The buzzing sound of several choppers doomed up in the background, whipping harder with every step she took. Eliza wasn't sure if they already spotted her. Either way, they did came closer.
She was too busy bouncing against buildings and uprooting trees in her attempt to get away as far as possible to check six. She gave a high-pitched shriek when two top floors of an apartment building she was about to lean her hand on exploded, spraying debris and shards of glass into her face. Groping her countenance all frantic, Eliza gave a sigh of relief when she saw no signs of blood sticking on her hands.
She spun her head and saw two military choppers approaching at a fast pace. They had spotted her and were launching missiles at her. She ducked, laying flat on her stomach with her hands covered over head as another explosion obliterated several balconies at the height where she was standing just a second ago. Feeling tons of debris raining upon her, Eliza realized she was a sitting duck and had to leave this spot as soon possible. She stood back up and rolled out of the way when two incoming missiles missed her at very narrow margin and made short work of the building's foundation, causing it to topple against a neighboring structure.
Eliza huffed as she darted her way through the lilliputian streets, evading missile after missile. She gave a huge wail of desperation when she noticed even more choppers joining the fray, locking their sights on her, encircling her from different sides. Miraculously, Eliza kept succeeding in evading the now full barrage of missiles getting fired at her. This non-stop shooting quickly turned this side of town in a total waste land. While busy darting, running, rolling and jumping her way through the lilliputian urban area,
Eliza noticed that these regions were quite packed with lilliputians still. She saw them teeming about on the streets below, screaming their lungs out as the whole area appeared like a richly filled minefield being detonated all at the same time. These military personnel did not seem to care about hitting their own people. Killing her seemed to have a higher priority than the sake of this city's inhabitants. It made Eliza wonder what kind of punishment Sophie had in store for these lilliputians if they would fail to kill her.
She did not have time to ponder on this thought for too long though, for her ears were suddenly filled with the sound of a rattling machine gun right above her from one of the choppers. Taking cover behind one of the city's many office towers, Eliza grimaced in pain as her shoulder received a full hit by several bullets. They did not pierce her skin, but they certainly hurted like the sting of a ferocious hornet. Various fresh red dots were appearing on her skin, appearing like some new formed constellation, on the spots where she was hit. Eliza knew these bruises would soon evolve into purple and yellow blotches on a mission to taint her fair soft skin.
“Oh my! You did not hurt yourself now, did you?” Sophie's moon-sized countenance thundered from the heavens, with her mouth half full with chewed popcorn. Several mashed wet pieces fell from her mouth as she spoke, crushing cars and people down below. “Usually, these speck flies are barely able to catch my attention even. Guess that's a totally different story for you humans. Ah well, you go girl! I’ll cheer for you from the sideline!”
Eliza saw the teen ginger raising a humongous fist in a gesture of encouragement before she threw another grasp of popcorn in her open mouth and slumped back in her lazy chair. All the while, Sophie's eyes remained focused on her in excited anticipation.
Meanwhile, the city's military did not remain stagnant and moved in closer on Eliza's position. There were perhaps about eight choppers buzzing around in the sky already, eager for her demise. And in the far distance, Eliza could see a column of tanks closing in, crossing a bridge over a dried up river. She did not dare to imagine how a potshot from one of those things would feel like.
She looked about all frantic and cracked her mind with ways of getting out of this mess. If she stayed here she would be surrounded and overrun in a blink. She had to get away from this hotspot, but to do that, she had to go on the offensive first. Eliza's fingers grazed along the stiff handle of the stockwhip dangling from her waist, making her remind the weapon she was carrying. Eliza wasn't bouncing for joy to try her luck with throwing cars again, but she was a bit reluctant with using the whip too. She did not know if she would be skilled enough to handle such a thing, but most of all, it reminded her of the time whereby she and her people were being mustered like cattle by a sadistic brobdingnagian shop owner with an almost similar whip before they ended up in Sophie's clutches. On the other hand, what choice did she had?
She grabbed the whip and wanted to try it out for a bit, to see how it would feel handling such a tool. There was no time for that though. Eliza flinched when another barrage of bullets impacted in close proximity from her head. It rattled loudly in her ear when a balcony, just one foot away from her head, was turned into swiss cheese in a matter of seconds. She noticed that the trail of the bullet impacts were slowly moving her way, implying that the gunner was aiming his sights toward her, so she moved away from it. It was a small wonder he even manages to miss such a big target like her in the first place. Another barrage of a machinegun was heard, drowning out the first for it came from another chopper who was hovering quite close over her head, but high enough to prevent Eliza from reaching him with a mere jump and a swat from her hand. And this gunner did not miss.
Eliza shrieked in pain when her stomach received several impacts, dotting painfully on her skin. She had enough of it. They had hurted her twice now. It was time to fight back. It was time these miniscule beings learned to fear Eliza's wrath. She rolled out of the way just in time as two missiles swooshed by, obliterating a good chunk of the apartment building she was leaning against merely a second ago.
During her dodging motion, Eliza nimbly grabbed a car from the road and hurled it towards the most closest chopper. It was an easy target and Eliza's pitch was perfect. The aircraft exploded in a grant fireball. She took cover behind a majestic skyscraper when two other choppers opened fire and rained down a spray of lead upon her. Eliza checked her left foot when she heard the sound of metal screeching beneath her boot and saw that her heel had impaled a silver gleamy touringcar, still packed with throngs of lilli's. She pulled the bus off, shrugged and threw it with a fine throw towards a chopper and unfortunately missed.
“Time to shine, my friend.” Eliza looked at the stockwhip which was firmly held in her hand. “do not let me down.”
She tried to visualize the technique used by her former owner when he herded them like beasts with sadistic pleasure.
She swung backwards over her shoulder and unleashed the whip in front of her, aiming it at some random structure and was pleasantly surprised when she heard a loud crack followed by a rumble when its direct hit pulverized one side of a warehouse’s corner.
She presented a defiant smirk while glaring at two choppers hovering above her head. Their altitude may prevent Eliza of reaching them with a jump, but they were definitely within reach of her stockwhip and these pilots were darn well aware of that fact. One of them fired an apparent blind shot, for it missed Eliza by a longshot, before it made a hastily maneuver to fly off. Eliza did not waste time, prepared her whip and unleashed it like a cobra hellbent on a killer strike. Eliza gave a laughter of triumph when the chopper received a full hit, exploding into many pieces.
"Ha! That's how its done!"
She felt a wave of confidence surging through her veins and was ready to lengthen her momentum by targeting the other chopper who was already flying away from her. Eliza unleashed her whip and cursed when she missed, hitting air with the whip's cracker. Nevertheless, its hit created a loud sonic boom in close proximity of the chopper, causing it to oscillate out of trail and losing some altitude. Gazing at some structures in the distance standing there like a clump of mushrooms of different heights Eliza came up with a wild idea. She took a sprint, stepped on several buildings like climbing a stair and when stepping on the highest of the bunch she launched herself in the air, aiming her jump at the chopper and smashed it completely with a powerful hamer fist.
Eliza landed on the ground, leaving cracks in the asphalt with her boots as smoldering debris swirled down all around her, and felt hopeful of surviving this twisted game.
"Like, Oh. My. God! You're amazing, Eliza!" Sophie thundered from above, with glee in her eyes, unknowingly blowing up many windows and eardrums in the lilliputian landscape below. "Okay, change of rules. Last man standing. You or this city. Force them to worship you like their God or perish beneath their might. THIS is going to be GREAT!” Sophie clapped in her hands in excitement.
