Thank you for your support!

Its been a couple of months now since I started this adventure with Patreon.
I found it a bit exciting at first; would people actually be willing to pay their hard earned money for some scratches of mine? Will I be able to deliver what I promised?
And the thing is, it turned out just fine in my opinion.
I already have you, the patrons, who support me in my quest in becoming a better writer, for which Im very grateful!!

I was also quite curious how I would cope with deadlines. The last two years I only wrote when I felt like it or when inspiration started to flow.
Working with deadlines is different. I sometimes am staring at a blank screen on my laptop and wonder what the hell Im going to write about this time.
Surprisingly enough, inspiration automatically starts to flow the moment I compel myself to just write.  And I love it! Its addicting!
Its also amazing to see my own improvements over time. When I check back at my very first writings from 2017 they appear like the scratches of a baby :)
Now however, it slowly starts to become decent even at moments and my english is gradually improving also.
Im still far from the point where I dare to call myself a decent writer, but its my goal and I know I will get there.
And I cant do it alone. The fact is that working with deadlines is actually pretty good for my improvement. It compels me to keep writing to deliver what I promised to you, the patrons.

Well, so much for some personal story from my side ;)

Im working on a new chapter for Playtime by the way. Its quite different than what you're used to. Let me know what you think.
And feel free to throw some suggestions my way and I will see if I can weave them into one of the stories.

Take care!

Hey thx! Glad to hear you like the stories! And yes, english is not my first language. Im working hard to get to grips with it. I read english books, watch movies with english subtitles, listen only to english voice overs etc. And when I don't understand something, like a word or a sentence, I look it up immediately. Heck, even my phone and windows is set on english :) And when I write something and Im not sure if the grammar is correct, I do some research on the net and try to learn more about some specific grammar rules. Its very hard sometimes, especially like three years ago when I started it all. I never wrote before. So it was a twofold challenge for me. I had to learn the basics of writing itself AND I had to do it in a language Im not an expert with. But its fun! I find english a beautiful language and I love to write and Im eager to improve! Thx for the kind words!

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Is English not your first language? Honestly it's very difficult to tell based on your writing if not. As long as you don't stress your self out with deadlines and continue enjoying writing is what matters. Your stories are great and I'm sure I speak for all of us that we appreciate your efforts!!

Thx for the kind words! Appreciate it. Glad you still like my work! In my opinion money is never a good motivator. I just love to write and the more I do it, the more my love grows it seems. My main motivator is that I want to become good at something I’m passionate about. I’m under no illusion that I will one day be able to quit my job and earn my living as a full-time writer or anything. I can’t deny that a prospect like that would be awesome of course, but I try to maintain realistic. And just like you said, there are a lot of people out there who take a deep plunge in the world of creating things for money. They make all kinds of promises and after a short time, are burned out. For this reason I am VERY careful with the promises I make on Patreon. I deliberately chose for this setup on patron, where I promise an update of once a week. I won’t rule out the possibility of a higher productivity in the future, because I notice my writing speed does increase the more I practice. But for now, its fine like this. I see some writers ask for more, but also create more. I saw this Ashley Mangle, a good writer, who started Patreon last year. She updated A LOT and her patron support grew exponentially in a short time. But I was always wondering, how on earth was she able to sustain such a high degree of productivity without getting worn out. Then, a short while ago, she suddenly disappeared from the web without a trace. I can of course only speculate about the true reason for her disappearance, but either way, Im careful with what I promise. I love to write, and money is good to cover the cost of writing courses etc. But most importantly, I want writing to STAY fun.

Really happy to hear that you're passionate about writing! I feel it's all too common that when someone decides to do something for money, they start to get burned out after a while, so I'm glad to hear you're still enjoying it. I've been here since you opened this patreon, and I still always enjoy your works. Keep up the good work!!
