Chapter 68: Wishing Upon the Dragon

With the aid of the more advanced Dragon Ball Radar, he quickly found the fifth and sixth Dragon Balls in a primeval forest and a Gobi desert respectively, the latter being the Seven-Star Ball originally found in the castle of the Ox-King.
After gathering six Dragon Balls, Xavier immediately headed towards the location of the last one.
According to the original story, the Kame House was not far from the small island city where Xavier had once met Mutaito, reachable by speedboat.
With a swift sound, after a brief streak of light, Xavier appeared thousands of kilometers away over the ocean. The deep blue waters were tumultuous, with giant waves rolling under the vast expanse. Xavier pulled out his Dragon Ball Radar, confirmed his bearings, and flew towards the direction of Kame House.
Soon, a speck appeared on the horizon where the sky met the ocean.
It was a small island bobbing in the sea. As he drew closer, he saw that the island was barely over a hundred square meters, hosting a pink-toned cottage and four or five coconut trees.
"Ha ha, finally found Kame House!" Xavier smiled as the outline of the island appeared before him. With a whoosh, he accelerated towards Kame House.
At Kame House, the sea breeze was gentle, and seabirds chirped overhead. The warm sunlight created a cozy atmosphere.
Under the coconut trees, spots of light filtered through, like stardust from the sun. Master Roshi, wearing sunglasses, lay on a sun lounger, basking in the sun and soundly sleeping, a pornographic magazine clutched in his drooping hand.
It was a scene of perfect contentment, but suddenly, a gust of wind stirred, sweeping up sand and obscuring visibility. The coconut trees swayed violently in the fierce wind.
"Uh... What's this? Such a strong sea breeze!" Master Roshi awoke from his nap, squinting at the wind-swept island. After a few glances and seeing nothing of concern, he lay back down to rest. On the ocean, such breezes were too common to warrant his attention.
It wasn't until the evening that Master Roshi realized the crystal ball that had always hung around his neck was missing, leaving only the hemp rope it had been strung on.
"Where could it have gone?" Master Roshi pondered, unable to recall where it might be and not particularly concerned, although he had worn the crystal ball for over a hundred years and was somewhat reluctant to lose it.
A few kilometers from Kame House, on a barren island, Xavier laid out the seven Dragon Balls. They immediately began to sparkle with golden light at their touch, each flicker accompanied by a soft hum that seemed to hint at the presence of the dragon.
"Hum, hum, hum!" The Dragon Balls flickered rhythmically.
Watching the glowing Dragon Balls on the ground, Xavier felt an irrepressible excitement stirring within him. Although he had been in the world of Dragon Balls for eleven years, this was his first real summons of the dragon.
"Come forth, Shenron!" Xavier took a deep breath and shouted at the Dragon Balls, then waited quietly. As expected in the original stories, calling out seemed somewhat melodramatic but was remarkably effective.
Indeed, following Xavier's call, the Dragon Balls flashed faster and more urgently. Soon, a vast swath of dark clouds gathered, swiftly covering the entire sky and plunging the surroundings into a terrifying darkness.
"Boom!" Thunder roared in the darkness, and golden lightning, like angry dragons, streaked across the black clouds, striking down in furious bolts. The thunderous roars were deafening, as if heralding the apocalypse.
The light from the Dragon Balls grew more intense, shining brighter and resonating with the golden lightning in the sky.
"The dragon is coming!" Xavier, trying to contain his excitement, stared unblinkingly. Having only seen Shenron appear in animations before, the sight was still as majestic and imposing in person.
"Ao!" A dragon's roar echoed.
Massive torrents of golden light burst forth from the Dragon Balls, weaving through the air and merging with the lightning above, culminating in a mighty dragon cry that echoed through the heavens.
In the sky, a green dragon spiraled through the dark clouds, finally fixing its gaze downwards with eyes flashing red.
"Mortal, state your wish. I can grant you any desire!" Shenron boomed.
Xavier, adjusting his emotions, said, "Shenron, I have a list of Saiyans here. My wish is, at the time of Planet Vegeta's destruction, to transport all the Saiyans on this list to Planet Red Mountain in the Eastern Galaxy."
With that, Xavier raised the register high, his eyes filled with anticipation. The list contained the names of over ten thousand Saiyans, the result of extensive discussions and deliberations by Adriel and his associates, deciding who deserved to escape to Planet Red Mountain but couldn't leave early for various reasons.
If all these Saiyans were to be evacuated at the last moment, even Xavier wouldn't be able to transport them all at once.
This was the time to harness the power of Earth's Dragon Balls.
Of course, the loyal followers of King Vegeta and the worshippers of Frieza were naturally not included on the list, eliminating most of the Saiyans on Planet Vegeta. The remaining were either indecisive or of incompatible temperaments, and ultimately, only about twelve thousand were selected.
Considering the future of the Saiyan lineage on Planet Red Mountain, Xavier attached great importance to this matter and waited quietly for Shenron's response. After a long silence, just as Xavier began to think his wish might be ungrantable, Shenron spoke.
"Human, as your wish pertains to future events, I cannot fulfill it immediately... However, I can imbue these Saiyans with the power of the Dragon Balls, which will activate at the moment of Planet Vegeta's destruction."
"But this only applies to those who are alive. If these Saiyans are deceased when Planet Vegeta is destroyed, the power of the Dragon Balls will not activate!"
Shenron's response was in line with Xavier's hopes. He replied, "Shenron, please fulfill my wish!"
"Easy enough!" The booming voice resonated, and Shenron's eyes emitted a bright red glow.
With Shenron's power at work, Xavier knew that the fate of how many would reach Planet Red Mountain depended on their survival until the destruction of Planet Vegeta.
"Mortal, your wish has been granted. Farewell."
With those words, Shenron's coiling body transformed back into the seven Dragon Balls. They spun in the sky a few times, preparing to scatter across the world.
However, Xavier, prepared for this moment, leapt high into the air, activating his psychic powers in a flash. He managed to catch the Two-Star, Four-Star, Three-Star, and Seven-Star Balls before they could fly away!
Upon inspection, Xavier found that the four Dragon Balls had turned into white stones, which would not regain their Dragon Ball form for another year.
Xavier smiled nonchalantly, and with a flick of his wrist, he opened a rift in the air and tossed the stone-form Dragon Balls inside, "I'll return the Dragon Balls to Gohan and the others later!"
Having accomplished his main mission on Earth, Xavier was in high spirits. He then took some time to explore various Earth environments and stocked up on a large quantity of food before finally leaving the planet.
