Hey, the periods doesn't really hide the spoiler - the whole comment is visible as default on here

Really loved your reaction to this one!! It was so much fun and I appreciate you pausing and saying the things you think about during the episode

Its been a while since a Buffy episode has been posted. I'm anxiously awaiting the next!

Becky Gilreath

Pausing is good... way better than talking over the show.

I actually like when you pause to talk about what you're thinking about. Lots of reactors don't pause and then they end up talking over stuff they need to know and then they don't know what's going on. I find Riley to be a little overly pushy in this episode. I think they were intentionally trying to provide an alternative to Angel --instead of being dark and brooding, Riley is friendly and sociable. Instead of jump-scare appearing out of nowhere, he just strolls in. Angel always seemed a bit resigned to Buffy leaving him, knew he was bad for her, and was always ready to call it quits. Buffy always fought for him. Now the shoe's on the other foot so to speak. Riley wants to fight to keep Buffy but Buffy wants to keep her distance. With that being said, I think they could have cut a few minutes out of their arguing and spent it on like, I don't know, anything else. I think it's great they found a way to fit Spike in as a series regular without sacrificing the affably evil streak that makes him a fan favorite. He definitely makes a go of stealing the whole show this episode. lol.

Spike sold this episode to me. The melodramatic attempt to stake himself, that ridiculous litle lungs trying to scare Willow, and finally the whole revelation he can hurt demons and his whole life has meaning again. His whole inspirational speech at the end while they're just trying to relax killed me. The guy is just chaotic, forget good/neutral/evil, as long as he can cause some carnage he's on board. That chip was a brilliant piece of writing with his character.

Agreed. Fail does a great job of trying to process information and sharing his thoughts, which shows he pays attention. It’s a pet peeve of mine when reactors talk over important parts, then wonder why nothing makes sense later on.

Morgan Le Fay

Agreed! I've never understood why people dislike pausing. For the most part, if you're watching a reaction, you've likely already seen it. So why does it matter if the reactor pauses so they can talk about something at length? I'd much rather hear the reactor's thoughts over paused video than have them say a whole spiel and then miss key stuff that often answered whatever question they had or gave key information they needed for later. There's a reactor I won't name who I had to stop watching for that reason. Would talk over key stuff and be confused. And even sometimes looked away from the screen during key moments. And also just didn't have much that was interesting to say. Some reactors just aren't very good at it. It's a weird skill.

I know some people dont like the pausing but ive seen reactors who will talk so much or go on like 5-10 minute rants and at the end of the episode its obvious by how confused they are just how much of the show they missed by talking over everything. I dont think people realize listening and talking at the same time doesnt really work. when multi tasking both tasks suffer. TLDR. I appreciate the pauses to deep dive an in the moment thought even if others dont.

SPOILER through S5: . . . . . . . Wow, that guess was insanely close -- Into the Woods is 5x10

I cant even say what I am saying wow about, but damn you were pretty much on the money on something.

Love the spike stuff in this episode. Him finding out he can hit demons is a game-changer, only demons, no human harming, that's going to be very interesting!

Doesn't every normal male college student have a giant poster of different kinds of balls on their dorm room wall?
