Weekly Progress Update [01/MAY]

Hey all, hope you had a great week!

It's finally May and a few people have newly pledged in the past few days, so I'd like to start off by pointing out that my Patreon processing is an up front charge, which renews on the first of every month! If you ended up getting double charged because you signed up in the past couple of days or earlier today, send me a message and I'd be happy to give you a refund! 

Now, onto the actual progress update: I MADE IT TO 11K! 

As you can tell I'm very excited about this fact lol but it's A LOT more progress than I planned on for April! It means I'm 25% done with the draft already, and if I can keep up this pace for May and June, I think a late June/early July update will be very much possible!!! No guarantees, of course, since I'm working on my thesis at the same time, but at the moment it feels very doable.

My goal for May is 15k words, which hopefully will put me at a total of 26k words for the draft, which in turn means I can dedicate (late) June to finishing the last scenes of the chapter, beta reading feedback and editing 💖

More specifically, in terms of content, the major variants for the opening scene for CH9 have been finished! For May, I'll be working on:

• The aftermath of the opening scene and a transition into the Crown's daily routine. After all the mess of CH7/8/9 the pacing calls for some stability and a little breathing space. I don't imagine this will take more than 5k words.
• Various scenes showcasing what the Crown's routine will be like, as well as putting them in the position to make major policy and governing decisions for the country. I would guess that this will also take about 5k words.
• Subplots and developments for the love interests, depending on their routes! This is one I'm especially excited about, as a character driven writer, because the various LI routes in particular involve detailed character arcs that will impact the rest of the whole story. The estimate for this is also around 5k words, though I expect to expand this later as well.

That's all my progress so far!
