April Poll Results!

Alright, I'd intended to have this up yesterday, but life events got in the way of my doing the vote weighing for the Short Story Poll. I just finished with that, so...poll results time!

Left Hand Magic Focus Poll

I honestly didn't know what to expect with this choice, since I've never been quite sure how important animations were to people. I was pretty interested to see that, while opinions were certainly split, a significant majority came down on the side of 'more events, fewer animations.' Specifically, the vote came out 63% vs 37% in favor of Option B, which was the option with more storytelling still-render-only events and fewer total animations.

Frankly, that's actually the less stressful option for me, so I'm hardly against it! Since it was pretty clear which side was winning, I've already begun to implement it. But more on that next time I do a progress report...

As always seems to be the case these days, I had no idea how this particular poll would go. I certainly didn't foresee Ayala and the Magic Shop coming out on top! While I'm a tiny bit disappointed at not getting another go at the Deck of Many Lewd Things, since I think it still had a fair bit of potential to get interesting, I hardly mind the result.

It's been long enough since I've written Ayala that I'm going to have to refresh myself on her a bit, but it will be nice to get back to a old favorite character I think! I've got a few writing projects ongoing at the moment, so I'm not sure exactly when I'll squeeze this in, but I'll start doing that refresh bit for the story as soon as possible. That really just involves rereading some of my own work to get back into the character's head, after all :-p.

Despite the new idea I offered up getting at least some traction, it's not particularly surprising to see one of the two favorites take the victory. The Virtual Trap and Cara Loft tend to trade off, and we just got a Cara Loft update last month, so The Virtual Trap was always the most likely winner. Unlike the vote tabulation for the story poll, I did have time to get started on VT 12 yesterday, so I've already got a couple of renders done for it and will be shooting for the usual release date around the 24-25th, if possible!
