2020's been a shit year for most of us, but 2019 was also kind of like that for me. I started a new job right at the end of November, and since then, I haven't really had much time to think about Twitch streaming or my open source projects.
However, I'm starting to get my head above water these days, so I might be able to come back to Twitch soon! I've got a bunch of projects I've been wanting to make, and it'll be a lot more fun to work on them on stream. :3
One caveat: I feel re...
2020-09-15 14:37:03 +0000 UTC View PostI'm divided on whether or not I should write a blog post about the parts of the furry fandom that should be avoided.
Groups like Furry Valley.
Individuals like pkrussl and Kero the Wolf.
On the one hand, I want to warn people, so they don't fall into their trappings.
On the other hand, I don't want to give them too much attention, so I'd have to limit it to a single, self-contained blog post.
What do you think?
2020-09-14 09:15:43 +0000 UTC View PostA couple of weeks ago, I started a blog called Dhole Moments. I'd planned on writing about a few topics of interest, such as elliptic curve cryptography, FIPS-186-5, and "hedged" signatures (deterministic signature algorithms with additional randomness).
However, I ended up writing a post about 2020-05-04 07:49:19 +0000 UTC View Post
Hey, just a head's up!
With my new job, my schedule is super packed, and I don't have a viable means of fulfilling the rewards for the top tiers ($50/mo.). I've been trying to schedule these, and failing miserably. :(
Consequently, I'm unpublishing them. If anyone wants a refund for their time in these tiers, let me know how to best reimburse you.
Sorry for not doing this sooner.
I've been working on a Telegram bot for the past week or so that, I hope, everyone finds extremely useful.
If you're an artist, streamer, etc. and you've ever said to yourself, "I wish I could have a Telegram group that only my supporters can access," then you'll love @headlesslounge_bot.
What it does: It allows Telegram users to link their Twitch/Patreon accounts. Once your accounts ...
2019-08-29 13:11:14 +0000 UTC View PostHi everyone,
I've created a dedicated Telegram channel for following my development projects.
This will be mostly used to announce new Github releases. From time to time, I may also announce stream go lives (but only special events).
Follow along here: https://t.me/dreamseeker_dev
Additionally, if you'd like to join a group instead of a channel, I've already got one set...
2019-08-28 23:05:06 +0000 UTC View PostFirst, a quick recap.
FAQ Off should be finished soon.
Immediately after, I'm going to be developing a program (upon Swizz's request) called FloofPal that allows Twitch streamers to have an on-screen animation that changes whenever a new chatter joins their channel, with an optional speech bubble that says "Hi <name>!"
The Fursona Sticker Switcher is still delayed due to upstream open source projects. I'll hopefully be able to un-stick...
2019-07-11 01:37:48 +0000 UTC View PostI decided to use FAQ Off to explain what FAQ Off is.
Something something dogfooding. Something something furries.
2019-07-04 22:14:32 +0000 UTC View PostIn addition to developing open source software on Twitch, I'm also going to be running some projects on my own infrastructure.
For example, the public FAQ Off instance is currently hosted at https://faq.dhol.es.
All current patrons will receive an invite link in their email as soon as version 0.1.0 is released. This link does not expire.
Moving forward, early access to software projects I've ...
2019-07-01 08:04:18 +0000 UTC View PostIf you're a game developer (whether independent or part of a AAA company), Project Canis will make your life a lot easier.
What is Project Canis? I fleshed out its motivation and design on Twitch (and noodled with my Twitch chat over what to name it). If you'd rather watch the video on demand:

2019-04-21 08:39:14 +0000 UTC View PostI talked a little bit about my development plans on stream, but in case you missed it, here's a recap with less word jumbling.
What's already done:
I've received a lot of requests and suggestions from viewers in the past month or so. They're all good ideas, but I can't possibly implement them all at once.
So here's a quick summary of directions I can take my Twitch channel. Let me know which one you'd most be interested in.
1. Weekly or biweekly podcast. Invite a guest on from the intersection of furries and technologists. Talk about current events, security news, open source, etc.
2. Educationa...
