I just wanted to say, about your discussion at the end about the use of the word "Introvert".... your not wrong that it is getting generalized. But I would like to point out that, imho, the use of it in this show is coming from a *characters perception* and not neccasarily the show-writers view. Like, Kaho off-handedly remarks on Introvert vs Extrovert but it feels correct for her to term what she's referring to that way because she's literally "cosplaying" as an extrovert. The reality in life is that all of the terms are just simplified categories but it's never that simple. I actually think this show does a good job of displaying a wide variety of people: 1) Mai: She seems to fall into the Social Butterfly + Extrovert group. She's comfortable around people and wants to actively participate, etc. 2) Ajisai: She seems, to me, to come off as a Social Butterfly but Introverted. She definitely has a battery and definitely gets tired of people (showcased best last season with her family) but wants to be around them. 3) Satsuki: She seems, to me, to come off as Socially Anxious but Extroverted. She seems to struggle to actually initiate conversation or converse with people who don't know her. But simultaneously is comfortable once the conversation has actually started and seems to get increasingly comfortable during that time. 4) Renako: She is the obvious Socially Anxious and Introverted. Don't really need to elaborate cuz the show makes it very clear. I will say though that I think the reason Renako is so cool as a character is because while she is socially anxious... and she is introverted... she ISN'T the "Default" "introvert" character that media loves to display. She WANTS to talk to people and be involved. She just struggles to actually do it and feel confident while she's doing it. Kaho... is somewhere between Ajisai/Satsuki. After this arc it's really hard to place her with the reveal that her "Extroverted personality" is "fake" (Keep in mind that even if she is "artificially" behaving, in a way... that doesn't change that it is part of her. Belief is a powerful thing. "Fake it till you make it" sort of vibes) Anyway, That's just my take and they come off like real people who could be anywhere on the specturm in varying ways. That's why, despite the... honestly strange setup to this whole show? And the stuff that just is obviously weird/wrong I can like this show. The characters are well written even if they do make some... wild choices.

2026-01-17 21:44:06 +0000 UTC53:39 "...easy resolution..." you say?!?!? Uh, NO. Dating +2 people might be natural for me, but easy? Never. ππ€£π I fully feel what you meant about the continued development and the idea of a singular choice later, but one, I am always happy with a romance anime that actually gives me a "I will be with you." BEFORE the ending of the series, and two, seeing Renakoala gut up and clearly say that she wants something and no one can convince her otherwise was immensely satisfying. She was so damn timid and jumpy the whole series, but this episode gave us a Rena who acted like a real person, who needs love and confirmation and to assert her influence on the world around her.

2026-01-16 07:22:49 +0000 UTCI really loved this anime. As a polyamourous person myself, I just don't get to see much positive displays of such a relationship in any televised programming. It was handled remarkably well(for a comedy), beside the throuple confession happening on a stage before a live audience. π€£ I'm glad I avoided the books until now. The anime turned out π―. However....Satsuki's text at the end requires me to advance asap in the story! Just gotta finish the I'm in Love With the Villainess book series I'm currently on first! Great reaction, Mat. You are the only reacter whom I truly enjoy who consistently has a flow of yuri/yuri-adjacent series going. It really is special for me. Thank you.

2026-01-16 07:15:59 +0000 UTCI am not opposed of polyamory, the theory of it. Actually, in many romance animes, I would prefer that over one person getting hurt while the other one "wins". If I love someone, I don't own them. I want to see them happy. If someone can love more than one person, can give two people - or even more? - what they want, then why not? If three people are all in love with each other? No one has to be lonely. But well, I don't know jealousy, and I wouldn't know if I could have more than one partner. But I see no reason to just accept monogamy, and judge other kind of relationships. And I really like that solution. Maybe Renakos development was a bit too fast in the end, but I think it is a great conclusion. And not actually an easy one. When she said that, Renako risked loosing both and being shunned by society. She could have lost everything, so she was really, really brave there. Also, she will need a lot of strenght. It won't be easy.
