First thing to note here- this is indeed El Condor Pasa's first loss, which is 1/2 of why we needed to make the derby a dead heat. An additional thing to know is that Eishin Flash and Nice Nature are both stand-in horses in this case, Nice Nature retired from racing about 9 years prior to this specific race and Eishin Flash won't even be born yet for over 10 years. The reason they're here as stand ins is to help fill out the cast for Suzuka's races. The festival section is something Uma uses to transition from spring to fall and from fall to winter, somewhat in accordance with the two fan voted G1 races, the Takarazuka Kinen that you saw Suzuka win in the early portion of this episode, and the Arima Kinen in December.
