The full reveal that Mikado is THE founder of The Dollars is so damn good. The crowd reveal is impressive, but even that doesn't fully reveal just who is. That little flashback fully confirming that he is quietly one of the strongest people in the ENTIRE city is perfect. Our meek main character secretly controls the largest gang in the city. He's never used it before, sure, but it's an undeniable fact that he's right up there with the highest tier threats. This first taste of his using his potential got a crowd of hundreds, including some heavy hitters like Shizuo, Izaya, Simon, and Celty, to show up.

And that I believe is what Izaya realized in the last episode. Not that he wasn't sure he was in the dollars, but that he wasn't entirely sure he was the leader. But that's just my head cannon. One of my favorite moments in the whole anime came from that single text from Mikado. So cool
