I'm sure plenty of period-havers in the audience can attest to how fast blood will stain fabric.

FOR SCIENCE! 😍

Kid Chaos

I love Jintu just casually telling her what a mirror is and telling her how to take care of herself. It just feels so teacher like him.

I'm really happy that so many people are bringing up dry bites in the comments because it WILL be brought up briefly in the comic specifically because I never see it brought up in media. She IS going to have a nasty bruise for a while and it's why I've been drawing her with her right arm wrapped in concept art.

Insider info: a copperhead bit me in two places a few years ago. The first bite had little impact because it was a β€˜dry bite’ β€” venom is biologically expensive to generate, so a snake defending itself will only inject a small amount at first.. enough to hurt, but not enough to do any real damage. The tissue within about 4” of the first bite swelled up for a while, but was back to normal within a day. The second bite got a full dose of venom. Copperhead venom works by hemolysis: making red blood cells explode. That also causes swelling, and the major threat is that the tissue will swell so much that the skin becomes a tourniquet, cutting off blood flow past the bite. I was lucky, and that didn’t happen. I was also lucky that the venom didn’t hurt.. apparently people respond differently, and for some/most it can be excruciating. I got intense nausea instead. The remains of the damaged red blood cells stay in the tissue, so my arm was an intense bruise from the bottom of the tricep to the middle of my forearm. Fictional snakes can do anything you want, of course, but having Kizarasunga shrug off a single bite (probably dry) is consistent with my experience. Having a nice ugly bruise for a few days would also fit.

"Dear Diary, "I hate being carried. That said, he's v. v. strong and well-made. I may have to inspect his physical conditioning more thoroughly...strictly for science, of course."

Oh my, this is precious! Love it, his concern and her sass ❀️

Isadora Barreto Piccolo

She's so unconcerned and they are just adorable!

These two. <3

So many things to love about this page. The set, his lifting her arm so casually, calling him cute *chef's kiss*
