Two questions raised with the cracking of the ice:
1. How much does his armor weigh? not to mention those soon-to-be waterlogged and heavy winter garments?
2. Assuming his garments/armor won't present a hindrance (or he's able to shuck out of them quickly), does Sa even know how to swim?

OK, Sa, basic cold-water survival: you've got 1 minute to get your breathing under control after the cold-shock of entering the icy water has made you involuntarily gasp for air. If you manage to do that and not drown, you've got 10 minutes before you become completely disoriented and lose the ability to swim or pull yourself out. If you were wearing flotation, you could survive another hour before hypothermia results in your final demise but you don't so you won't.
