What To Expect: February 2022

Sorry this post took a while to get made; a looooot has happened, this past month!

For starters, I already made good on one of my new year's resolutions and gave the Webtoon and Tapas pages for Moonlit Brew a much-needed update! I'm planning on giving ACES new thumbnails, later down the line, as well, but Eli already has a lot on their plate, at the moment. 

I finally got my new computer all set up, and already did some tweaks for what happens later on in Chapter 2 of ACES; they're minor tweaks and additions, but I want to make sure that it is the absolute best it can be. 

As for what's been happening with Moonlit Brew, this month, Ataribetch messaged me back, after a few weeks of silence, telling me he had a bad flu, but he was able to sketch the first page of Chapter 6; he is working on the two Moonlit Grind pages (Page 8 is going to be split in half, since there's a lot of detail going on. ;)  ), and the cover for Chapter 6, as we speak. Hopefully, I'll have more to show you, real soon!

Meanwhile, ACES Chapter 2 Pages 35 and 36, and ACESEXY Pages 11.5 (Should be the last bonus page of the chapter!) and 12 will be worked on, next! At the moment, Eli just finished with their schoolwork, so it shouldn't take long!

Lastly, I have something very serious to talk about; something that I hope isn't going to be a thing, but I have to expect the best and prepare the worst, for: I woke up to find out that Emy (from the Trying Human Patreon) has started removing her NSFW content from her page, due to "Patreon's restrictions in NSFW art". I messaged her on her Discord server about the specifics to why, and if I should start to worry, myself, and she basically told me that from what she could gather, Patreon is starting to be more strict with their guidelines for adult content. 

That's kinda nerve-wracking for me, to say the least, because when I was double-checking with Patreon support about what I can and can't do, back in August/September, I had to change this page back to being NSFW because even posting that content only off-site would not constitute as being an SFW page. I paid no mind and just marked my page as NSFW again, because most of my potential patrons find the link by reading the pages for my comics on DA/CF/Tapas/Webtoon. 

Obviously, I'm now worried that either A. Patreon is making long-term plans to do a Tumblr-esque NSFW purge, or B. They're going to start cracking down on pages like mine, despite the fact all of my characters are 18+, consent, nothing dark happens, etc.

So, where does that leave me, and this page? Good question! My hope is that, worst case scenario, if I do get Patreon mods knocking at my door for some rudimentary reason, I can at least be given time to move my NSFW content off of Patreon and into a similar website like Subscribestar, or Pixiv, or whoever. 

This page, and the support of you guys, have played a huge part to why I am able to continue making these comics, and to suddenly have this website cut me off simply because they can no longer handle... that type of content that I have 0 plans of posting publicly, nor are they canon to their main stories, would be devastating and heartbreaking.

I hope that I am just overthinking this, and that this is just nothing, and Emy is removing her adult content to simply play things safe, but we've seen stuff like this happen on other websites before, for reasons that would open a whole can of worms if I ever went into detail.
