I think it's important to note that I like happy endings, even if they are a bit unrealistic. Sometimes with Doctor Who, you just have to leave reality at the door and enjoy the story and fantasy you're given - if you can do that, there's a lot to like about this episode 🥰

Honestly, I want more info about the sisters!! I'd love to follow up on that, but I'm not sure if we will ever see it happen. Very curious! The Doctor with children is just grand. They must seem like little ants to him, so young and tiny for such an ancient giant 💜

Sometimes I get tired of people complaining about episodes, and expecting a masterpiece each time! It's always fun just to take the episode for what it is, find something you like about it, and enjoy it 💜

I do love an episode with a more whimsical fairytale feel in Doctor Who. I know this one isn't well liked, but I always have and I was hoping you would too 💜

I always get the feeling a large chunk of this episode is missing, particularly around the sister. There is also some dubious ideas about children not taking their medicines as the medicine is only blocking their natural abilitites. There probably is a place to do drama about the pros and cons of giving children mental health based medicines, but I really dont think this is the place for it and certainly not in the manner it is done here which could be potentially dangerous. And yet at the same time there is quite a bit of good in this. 12 with children is hilarious. The Danny/Clara/Doctor dialogue is all great stuff and it moves that story line on effectively, but you do kind of have to ignore or try not to think too hard about the actual story to enjoy it. The writer of this one Frank Cottrell-Boyle has an interesting resume and a history of trying to break traditional story structuring. This is the first of two he will write during the Capaldi era.
