TV Series Recommendations!

I'm going to make a post on the YouTube community page as well, but I wanted to ask you all first.... Now that Buffy is coming to an end, I'm looking for something new to react to.

💜Here is the SHORT version as I talk FAR too much..... TL;DR

With Buffy ending soon, I'm looking for a new TV series to react to! I originally considered switching to movies (and may still do a few), but I love getting to know recurring characters—so TV might be more my thing. I'm open to suggestions, ideally shows that aren’t too long (short seasons or only a few seasons). Sci-fi, comedy, drama—I'm open to all genres! So far, I’m considering Twin Peaks, Dollhouse, Red Dwarf, and Fawlty Towers. Let me know your recommendations! 😊 In the meantime, I might post extra Angel or Doctor Who reactions until I decide on a new show!

💜 Here is the FULL version of my ramblings for those that want a lil extra!

I'll be honest - I did think I was going to start movie reactions instead (and I still might pop in some movies... nothing is ever set in stone!) but I have watched now the first 3 Scream movies (the third one, I haven't edited yet but maybe I'll have time after Buffy) and also Rush Hour. Whilst I enjoyed the movies, I think what I really like is recurring characters to get to know and love... Which is why I think I enjoyed Scream so much as it was the same characters.

Having familiar characters really gets me invested in the show and series and maybe I'm more of a TV series person? I don't know... Some of you might remember me saying I've not seen many TV shows or movies as I tend to spend my free time gaming, so there's lots I haven't seen.

I have a few streaming services but am also open to buying DVDs. I have a DVD drive somewhere, though I will admit I hate using it as it's slow and often the DVD versions tend to be so different and can be tricky to make the full reactions work.

SO.... I'm looking for TV Series recommendations! (geez I talk so much)

The ones I've considered are Twin Peaks, Dollhouse, Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers.

I would prefer if they aren't TOO LONG. I'd love something just a few seasons, or short seasons (Doctor Who has quite short seasons which is great). I don't mind if it's scifi, comedy, drama... whatever! I will have a check of anything recommended to me to see if it's something that is suitable and also gets enough interest when it comes to viewers on YouTube.

I'd like to start in the next couple of weeks and in the meantime maybe I could upload an additional Angel OR Doctor Who per week until we get started with something new (please don't expect more than one episode a week of a show in a long term capacity, it's just in the interim if I have nothing else on the go!)

THANK YOU 😸😸

Red Dwarf pleeeeasse. I need to rewatch it for the 50th time, I really hope you pick that one, I need some laughs.

There are shows I think I might like which have been mentioned here, but I don't want to ask for a show that it turns out I might not like. So, I would need to recommend a show that I really liked and would like to watch again. But I don't rewatch many shows (other than Dr. Who, which I rewatch all the time). One show I think is rewatchable which I really like is "The West Wing", especially seasons 1-4. But I don't think that is the type of show you are interested in. But then someone in this thread mentioned Chuck. That is a show I really liked which I haven't rewatched recently, but would love to again. It's 5 seasons long, but seasons 1 and 5 were half seasons (13 episodes), so it is 91 episodes in total, which I think fits your criteria. It's a sci-fi / action / conspiracy series with good comedic elements, great actors, loveable characters, etc. Note that Adam Baldwin, who played Jayne Cobb in Firefly is also a main character in Chuck. In fact, his character in Chuck, John Casey, sometimes makes reference to lines from Jayne Cobb. :) In fact, just typing this has made me want to binge watch Chuck again. Don't make me do that! :) I'd much rather watch you review it at a much slower pace.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Firefly was the first Whedon show Jules reacted to. Awesome show.

Neil Hanson

I can't speak for the US version but the original British Being Human runs for 5 short seasons and features a vampire, a ghost and a werewolf sharing a house together. It has some of the same writers and creatives as the Who too (although they are very different shows).

Firefly. The answer to this question is always Firefly. It's from Josh Whedon, who made Buffy. It's short—13 episodes + 1 film—and it's pure genius from start to finish.

Would loveeee Supernatural

I forgot to include Black Books in my last comment, which were all British shows (& therefore shorter seasons). I also want to suggest a few more American shows that I haven't seen mentioned yet: 3rd Rock from the Sun, if you haven't already seen it. It has clever premise with wonderfully silly/entertaining results. Longer comedy series that are worth seeing if you haven't already watched them include: Friends Fraiser
