Buffy 6 x 4 Flooded - Early Access & Full

So, Buffy gets torn out of Heaven and now she's got bills piling up and things are looking a bit... well, not good. What more can the poor girl have to suffer through? WAIT. Don't answer that. We all know what show we're watching, I'm sure there's pure agony still to come. Um, yay?

One of the main things that stood out to me in this episode was Willow and her conversation with Giles. Damn.... I'm a little concerned but I guess emotions were high that day so it's understandable.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! I am wanting to go for a bushwalk/hike somewhere maybe tomorrow, and check out a little waterfall area πŸ’œ

Buffy 6 x 4 Flooded - Early Access & Full

Yeah, I didn't recognise Warren to begin with as I honestly didn't expect to see him again! I think I had totally been fine with him leaving my memory 🀣 To be fair, it's hard to concentrate on the others when the amazing Jonathan is there hahahaah

OMG cats and computers, I get your pain! I've had to pause my reactions several times as I have a huge tail wafting in front of the camera and they go on the keyboard too 🀣

Neil 🀣🀣 I am paying for it today! I can barely walk!

I never thought we'd see such an evil trio. How ever will Buffy defeat them 🀣

Juliette Gaming

What a trio they are! EVIL MASTERMINDS! Yeah, the demon itself is less than impressive, but they can't risk it overshadowing the amazing Jonathan πŸ˜…

This episode is a mixed bag for me. On one hand, we get to see more of the character dynamics. We see Buffy continuing to struggle with being brought back, and we have that spat between Willow and Giles. We also get introduced to The Trio. I always love seeing a reactors face when the camera pans over to them. Also, I love how even in the sixth season, the show still continues to bring back Jonathan. What I dislike about the episode is the demon/Monster of the week. He annoys me, and I'm also not a fan of the creature design. He reminds me a little of the creatures from "Go Fish" (season 2), but even those were done better. I think the main focus was supposed to be on the characters, so that's probably why, but I just wish they would have came up with a better demon for this one.

As for the same actor/two different roles.... We had Brian Thompson who played Luke in season 1 - Hellmouth and Harvest and also was The Judge in season 2 - Surprise and Innocence. They needed someone menacing and who better than the alien agent from X-Files. Also, there was an appearance by an actor last season who will reappear in the future in a different (????) role. A controversy we can hash out in the future.

Thanks for the correction. And for the note about it being Tom Lenk's second appearance on the show.

Superheroes not getting paid is an ancient comic book (and Hollywood) trope. I think there are two main reasons for it: The heroes seem more heroic and selfless to the audience when they fight without expecting a reward. And heroes with money problems are sometimes more interesting because they struggle in their personal lives as well, Spider-Man perhaps being the best example. So I guess from a story writing point of view it makes sense, but it's not very realistic and often infuriating. P.S.: It's not Andrew Tucker but Andrew Wells. Tucker is Andrew's brother.

I love this lethargic Buffy's humour. "There, all better" after flooding the basement. "You should eat breakfast at least three times a day." "Willow brought me back, I just lay there." I know it's a coping mechanism, but she's absolutely hilarious.

I think you didn't recognize Warren. He's the one from the robot-girlfriend episode; he also built the Buffybot. And he can't influence people (or demons) magically, that was just a joke. The demon clearly isn't very smart and Jonathan and Andrew are just easily impressed. Btw, Andrew is the only one of the trio that we haven't seen yet, but we have already seen the actor, Tom Lenk: He played one of Harmony's minion vampires in episode 5x02. Bit of a strange choice to cast the same actor in two different roles, but he is hilarious. Anya's idea of charging people for money actually isn't that far-fetched, after all, Angel does it. It's interesting that Anya and Cordelia had the same idea of charging people, because I always saw Anya as a sort of Cordelia replacement. They're both very direct and create the same kind of comic relief.

Sorry for the flurry of deleted comments, my cat keeps walking across my keyboard because she wants attention. :D I was going to add to my comment above re Buffy's depression symptoms, that one of the reasons I love season 6 so much, is that it was pretty much the first time I'd ever seen depression shown realistically on a television show. Back when Buffy aired mental health issues on TV were typically treated as one of those "very special episodes", and what you'd usually get would be the most stereotypical idea of something like depression, or eating disorders, or substance abuse disorder. If a tv show character was 'depressed' you'd see them crying alone in their room, looking all forlorn and downcast, maybe self harming or talking about suicide if the show was trying to be really edgy, but you never really saw them experiencing the fuller range of symptoms with something like clinical depression. First time I watched season 6 of Buffy during it's initial run, I remember thinking, "holy sh!t someone has finally had the guts to really go there, and show a whole range of depressive symptoms way beyond the usual stereotypical portrayals". Also the fact that, so far at least, we haven't seen Buffy just 'snap out of it' or have some big deep and meaningful/kumbaya moment with her friends and have everything suddenly be okay. Again I think this is one of the first, if not the first, times when a TV show allowed/showed a character actually dealing with a mental health issue, that wasn't just insta!fixed by a rousing speech and a group hug.

Right now Buffy is showing pretty clear signs of major clinical depression. This episode alone we've seen her experiencing: 'Psychomotor retardation' (the scene at the sink, where she appears somewhat stuck and is slow to move and respond) Anhedonia (an inability to find joy in things you otherwise would - Giles has returned and Buffy says she's happy that he's back, but emotionally she's struggling to truly feel happy) Emotional blunting (her conversation with Willow about how she hasn't exactly been big with the whole range of human emotions) Sleep disturbance (by her own admission she is having trouble sleeping, even if she tries to cover it up by saying 'she sleeps fine, great even, except for the dreams And emotional withdrawal from friends and family (she pulls away from Giles when he reaches for her hand on the couch, we don't see her interacting with Dawn a whole lot either).

Thanks for another great reaction Juliette. I hope you have a great time on your hike. But try to heed the wise words of TLC and don't go chasing waterfalls, please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to 😜

In season 1 of Angel, Wesley is talking with the Watcher Council's hit squad (sent to capture Faith) and they are complaining of flying coach when the Council's alchemists can make gold. The Council is just cheap and seem to consider the Slayers as expendable. But they do pay the watchers. It is always a sore point among fans that the slayers don't get some kind of allowance. You have now met the Trio, Jonathon Levinson, Warren Mears and Andrew Tucker.
