Ha! Look at my happy smiling face in the thumbnail! Well, we are seeing Wilf again. That means happiness AND tears. I can't be crying in all my thumbnails - I want to be happy for this one, especially as I'm sharing it with Wilf π₯°
A great episode. REALLY enjoyed this one.
I forgot to put the picture of the person I was referring to in the Pompeii episode, but his name was Caecilius. The picture is in the Youtube edit!

Thank you for this comment as I was just looking for it. This lets me know I can find it by searching instead

Bernard passed away at 93 a few years ago & Georgia Moffat in tribute pretty much confirmed that David & Georgia's child Wilfred "Fred" Tennant was named after his character in Doctor Who which is just beautiful π π

That coffee shop scene π The ending of the return of the Timelords was a complete shock! In the press screening & all the preview DVD's it was hidden & ends before the reveal with The Master laughing & the whole Human race becoming John Simm. The production team gave John Simm a cast photo & photoshopped his head on everyone as a souvenir for him π€£π€£

Of course it isn't! Not in any way at all!

Well, if you want to take it so seriously, I don't recall any Dalek invasions irl, so the Doctor's universe has to be parallel to ours. (or mine anyway π)

When I watched this, I noticed something weird. Yeah, I know, but this is even weirder than all the other weird.
You see, these events are occurring after those of Season 3, when the President of the US was Winters. We had a flying supercarrier. So, yeah... a near-future Earth.
But... the new President of the US is Barack Obama. OUR Barack Obama. So, in the DW universe, the President before Obama was not Bush, but Winters. And in 2016, we had a flying supercarrier.
Is this ANOTHER parallel universe, like the one where Rose ended up? Is there a future Obama, maybe a son, who hasn't been born yet, who becomes the new President? Or something even weirder?

He also played Mr. Rochester in the 1980s BBC miniseries version of Jane Eyre. Itβs my favorite adaptation, and I think Dalton was by far the best at playing Mr. Rochester.

How about the 1980s Flash Gordon, he was a leader in that film.

I don't know how it works on phones and tablets and such but I use a browser that does pop out videos (OperaGX has it I think at least on PC). BBC iPlayer if you have access I think lets you do this by default. So I simply pop out the episode I'm streaming and position it over the one on Juliette's video and sync up. Might not work on portable devices though.

I'm going to be traveling for 2 weeks, with iPad only, when part 2 comes out. Does anyone know whether it's possible&practical to sync the reaction to the episode on an iPad? I might try something like a phone next to an iPad. No way I'll wait an extra two weeks so if I can't figure out the syncing I'll have to watch the youtube edit and maybe go back for the full length later.

These two episodes are great examples of both Tennant's and Simms' acting chops, they seem to fuel each other so well.
30 minutes in and you're crying already... hope you had a massive box of tissues ready for the rest.
Can't wait to see part two.

I absolutely adore Wilfrid and Bernard Cribbins, who I've grown up with from his films like The Railway Children and the feature film Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 AD (the only actor ever to appear in the TV series and movie), through reading me stories as a kid in Jackanory through many more TV shows. He is a legend!
Great to see that he got a starring role in this 2-parter :)

The guy at the end is Timothy Dalton - it was Peter Capaldi in the Pompeii episode. Great actor, Peter Capaldi xd...

Not sure if it confused you or not (as a lot of people get confused at this) but the Time Lords aren't trying to come back from AFTER the Time War. They are still in the Time War from their perspective and are trying to escape it before their destined demise.
Also the Master did knock more than 4 times but it was 16 times. It was 4 sets of 4. Can't get more 4s than that.
Can't wait for the next episode. The end of an era.

the actor at the end of this episode is named Timothy Dalton. He hasn't been in the show yet, but I bet you have seen him in a dozen other things. check out his IMDB page if you still can't place him.

Oh my god, Rassilon (the time lord at the end and narrator of the episode) reminded you of Caecilius? Ok, that's erm - I'm gonna shut up now because of spoilers, but please don't google the actor who played Caecilius. And beware, maybe also don't read the YouTube comments on this episode. Btw, the actor who plays Rassilon (not Caecilius) is in fact Timothy Dalton, who played James Bond twice in the 80ies.

Just look at that beautiful smiling face in the thumbnail. (Oh, I just noticed you're also in it as well Juliette! π)
Nice to see Wilf again, and Donna too. Although seeing Donna also brings feelings of sadness knowing what she's lost. The Master... I could have done without seeing him again. The scene where he was devouring the chicken made me feel quite queasy. DID NOT LIKE!!
The guy at the end who you found familiar, apart from being James Bond, was also in an excellent show called Penny Dreadful, which coincidentally also starred Billie Piper (Rose). If you ever get any free time maybe check it out.
Looking forward to your next reaction Juliette, should be a good one. Thanks for yet another excellent video and I hope you have a great day.

Your thinking of Peter capaldi who you will see again but not for a while. It was Timothy Dalton, he's been in loads, James bond is probably his most famous role

!!!! Seeing Wilfred on your thumbnail makes me want to drop everything and watch this now, which I just might do. I'll probably be interrupted and have to continue overnight but it's worth the try.
