Buffy - Hush 4x10 - Full Reaction

Creepiest villains EVER!! I loved them and hated them (because they were gross 🤣) their hand movements were so elegant, though?! It has me questioning my every being haha

I thought this one was so good. With a lack of communication, the gang still managed to get there (with some bumps along the way) and save the day. Some funny moments as well, and genuinely creepy. Great episode! Did you like it, too?!

Have a wonderful weekend 💜✨ I'm going to buy Dave the Diver and maaaaybe record a let's try video for it and then that's what I'll be playing this weekend hehe!!

Buffy - Hush 4x10 - Full Reaction

Comments

Nominated for two Emmy's.

I love this episode, it was masterfully put together, the music and lack of speaking. The Gentlemen are one of the creepiest villians on TV if you ask me.

Michael Short

I am ashamed at how I didn't notice Buffy's questionable hand gestures right away during the slide show 🤣

There is just something so beautiful about the Gentlemen, which is an odd thing to say! They are so elegant and graceful. Almost ballerina like!

One of the best conceived and written episodes of the series. Buffy and Riley never really made sense as a couple until they can't speak to each other. The slide show scene, and the episode in whole is great because each character's own personality quirks come through so well without language getting in the way. Anya doesn't really care except for her popcorn, Xander has the wrong answers, Willow desperately wants Giles to call on her, and Buffy is mostly concerned about her looks, while Giles struggles to maintain order. I also cannot say enough about the gentlemen. The show is about a vampire slayer, but we've seen plenty of vampires. Most of the other monsters have been simple gross costumes, and it is usually up to the actors to make them scary, which is not always so successful. The gentlemen look to have been designed right from the start to be super weird, with their smiles, hand gestures, applauding each other, and how they float smoothly above the ground while their minions stumble along in straightjackets, and all of it made even creepier by the utter silence.

You did an amazing job of reacting to the show and picking up on the intricacy of the plot. I wish I could have seen it unspoiled the way you did back when it originally aired. However, the network ran promos for the episode which flagged many of the plot points. My favorite scene is Giles' slide show.

David Schmidt

The decision to make the gentlemen float and have minions in straightjackets do their dirty work for them is utterly brilliant. It made the Gentlemen frightening on an entirely new level than we have seen in the show so far. And the masterful music done by Christophe Beck in this episode is just chef's kiss.

Lime Pie

BTW if you're a Star Trek fan, the lead Gentleman also plays Saru in Discovery.

This is one of the top episodes of the entire show. I believe Joss was told that Buffy was only a good show because of the dialogue, so he decided to write an episode with as minimal dialogue as possible. I absolutely love the musical score in this one, and The Gentlemen are amongst my favorite villains in the whole show. This episode is my #2 favorite. There's only one that tops this one for me, and we haven't gotten to it yet on your channel.

This is a great episode. It was nominated for an Emmy award, but didn't win. It is fun to see how they communicate without speech - and how Buffy and Riley are actually better at communication this way. The monsters are wonderfully creepy. I also love seeing Giles have a girlfriend. And we learn that Giles was one of the original members of Pink Floyd!

HA! Very ironic, that!

Thank you, Neil!! I played a fair bit last night and I got a shark which was TOUGH 😱

Juliette Gaming

It's an awesome episode to get started with! Very well done!!

This is the episode that got me hooked on the series! I never liked the ads for the show so I didn’t watch it until they promoted the heck out of this episode. After watching this I watched the show religiously until the end.

Mrs. Peacock

Been looking forward to this one! It's usually somewhere in most people's top 5 episodes 😊

Neil Bullock

Generally considered one of the top 3 episodes of the series, and I think the only one that got nominated for best writing, oddly enough with so little dialogue.

Logan Bruin

Love, love, LOVE this episode! Have a fun weekend of virtual diving Juliette.
