Buffy - The Prom S3 E20 - Full Reaction

This episode was so... satisfying. I feel so happy and yet so sad at the same time. To see all of our "babies" grown up, going to prom, getting ready for graduation and to move on and away from high school... I just feel so proud. Emotional, heartfelt and SO Buffy. A wonderful episode... Very, very enjoyable 💜

Buffy - The Prom S3 E20 - Full Reaction

Comments

I think their dance at the end was because, coupled with the song, it made us realise that it's their final dance together 😭

Melanie

I watched this show growing up and related to Xander. (I'm 41) Now my 16 year old daughter has grown up with it too and I relate to Giles.

Matthew Bailey

I love this episode AND Giles too 🥰 He always knows just what to do!

Yes, I have to agree with you on that one! For Jonathan to stand up like that after all he went through shows so much courage AND has so much meaning for Buffy, too!

Remember with the "Earshot" reaction, I said I was always kinda envious of reactors for getting to see that episode when it was intended to be seen? This is why. Don't get me wrong, even on first broadcast Jonathan's speech was poignant. But I can't help thinking it hits different IF you go into it having seen Buffy and Jonathan's scene in "Earshot".

Ughh, I knew I'd need the tissues for this one. One of my favorite moments in this entire show is Buffy receiving the Class Protector Award. It was so unexpected and beautiful. And I love your reactions, I have since I discovered your channel with your Firefly reactions. Your emotion and empathy is contagious. Not that I didn't tear up seeing this episode when I was a young boy in middle school when it first aired, but I'm just reliving those emotions through you. And I've seen many other Buffy reactors but yours, in my opinion, are my favorite.

Ryan Martinez

Fun Fact: When asked what her favorite episode of Buffy is, Sarah Michelle Gellar has always said it's this one. I always like the smooth way Giles takes the parasol from her when he sees Angel. Giles is my favorite character.

Crying right along with you

It has nothing to do with the scheduling and everything to do with patreon borking itself all the time. By no means is this a new problem for any random post.

Willow: oh right. Oz and I playing mistress of pain every night. Bangel: we can teach you some things.

Such a wonderful episode... And yes, Xander paying for the dress? Honestly, I'm feeling a shift for the better with his character. I love it.

Juliette Gaming

It's this darn non-scheduling thing 🤣 I can't trust to schedule anymore haha

Juliette Gaming

I love the constant misery that Buffy and Angel deal me... I am sick.

Juliette Gaming

So true 🤣 He's one of the lucky few who don't have to do much and they look good regardless!

Juliette Gaming

Angel brushes up nice for a guy who can't look at himself in a mirror. lol

Michael Short

Need fresher shop owners then. Did Angelus teach you nothing?

Maybe I have a heart but it isn't even beating :-P

I had no idea that children, en masse, could be gracious. That scene with the class protector award is definitely one of the highlights of the show. There are quite a few great moments in this episode - Xander paying for the dress, Giles offering ice cream, Anya asking Xander out - but the award dwarfs them all for me.

I'm late! I didn't think you'd upload this so early. Meanie! :P I'll come back to you once I've seen it.

SweetSummit

This is one of those bittersweet episodes for sure. You have Buffy being, finally, recognized for everything she does, but also the heart break of the breakup is just brutal (for those of us that have a heart).
