Band of Brothers - We Stand Alone Together - Full Reaction
Added 2023-06-02 22:00:02 +0000 UTCMy favourite moments in Band of Brothers have been watching the interviews with the real soldiers, so this was such a pleasure to listen to them tell their stories. What surprises me is that so many of them tell their story with a smile as they think back to those moments that were good memories for them. There ARE good memories in between the bad ones. I absolutely love that they still have those reasons to smile and laugh... 6 candy bars in your pocket and ready to fight... what incredible men 💜

Thank you for sharing this. I totally agree that the casting for this show was amazing, seeing these interviews and all the real faces there are so many similarities, physical and mannerisms. Guarnere is just spot on, Shifty also. And that outro of Babe Heffron singing just instantly makes me think of all the scenes where he's goofing around. Seems like such a great character. If you're interested, here's a recent interview by the actor who played Perconte - from the other side of things, about the intimidation of attempting to portray a real life hero and how much work that went into getting the details right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Zq2WMxOhz0

And now I am back with tears in my eyes, which I blame on you 🤭 I loved seeing those pictures. There was a lot of them in Normandy for the premiere! That is honestly so incredible to see. I didn't know how many of them actually saw the show, but so many did.... I am so happy to know this now!

2023-06-04 02:43:05 +0000 UTCThat seems like a very common thing to not want to talk about the war. I don't know if many of us can relate to what they went to, but I know that I myself don't really like to talk about bad things or things upsetting to me, so it's understandable. I can't imagine the horrors they went through!!

2023-06-03 23:57:33 +0000 UTCThank you Jules for sharing your journey with us. I am so glad you did decide to share you reacrion of this with us. It is a journey following the com;pany through the war thank you for your honest emotions. It was a joy to watch. To answer something you wondered about openly is that yes most of the survining men got to see the show. In fact the production company flew most of the survinig members of Easy compnay and their families to Normandy for a private screening of the series so they could watch the series together before it was broascast to the public. A few choose not be involved but the vast marjoirty where. There is a great picture available online of WInters and Spiers meeting there and shaking hands. The screening was in the summer of 2001, not sure of the exact date, but prior to that the two men who where the primary leaders of the company, had not seen each other since 1945. Again thank you for sharing your journey and I hope you continue on learning more about these men and the others like that. GREAT JOB JULES you are the best and my most favorite reactor.
