You compared the Hitchhiker to Serling, but his roots more likely come from OTR shows like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler.

I thought for sure the meat-head who couldn't satisfy the lady was in a bunch of stuff I've seen. And yet, scrolling his IMDB, yes he's been in lots of stuff i've seen but that's not where/how I recognize him. Strange! Happens every once and a while where you scroll up and down a filmography and get frustrated about how you "know" someone.

Hell yeah

..."We like to bust"... - Stanger. I get it. Busting makes me feel good

Chabnormal

Them doing impressions of listeners, and of Gabrus’ dad will never not make me laugh. “Jonny, I definitely would have voted for trump”

JHolmes

I don’t know if this is allowed, but I make an ‘anthology-esque’ podcast where I present my interviews of people recounting their near death experiences, bigfoot encounters, and stuff like that. If any of you Zombies are into that, the pod is called Matchbook Flashback. https://open.spotify.com/show/71ZNed2WdWHjvOBLOLYMYY

Interestingly, Trap is based off a real US Marshal sting operation in which they lured 100 fugitives to a fake NFL game. Most elaborate and legendary sting in history. called Operation Flagship. Had the cheerleaders pat them down at the door! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Flagship

Known as "pulling a Stranger"

Rogers immediately dropping his “people need to be more critical” attitude as soon as Stanger says The Twilight Zone had a low hit rate is so fucking on brand

Alex Elani

Looking forward to watching Gabrus in that Horror Anthology Grind coming out soon.

Wanna see a real smoke show, watch the first ep of Hitchhiker for a young Bruce Greenwood.

“Dumb scripto Stanger” is filling the StangerBot sized hole in my heart

When you guys do Tales From The Crypt, do Cutting Cards(The one with the extreme high stakes gamblers). Episode one is the best Tales, but nobody talks about Cutting Cards enough. Features two Action Boys vets Lance Henricksen, and Kevin Tighe from Road House.

It’s the Friedkin weekend.

Andrew Stark

I liked a lot for what it was. A really solid 3 out of 5. I agree with the Blank Check pods assessment that it was something that 90’s TNT would air 100 times, and I’d watch it in pieces for the next ten years without seeing the whole thing.

Stanger: what the fuck are we??? What? 😮

Thomas

what the hell is plex? what do people think it is? I've only known it as a server where you can put files for anyone to access.

bloodflart

I can’t get enough Ratboy

Salmon

I like that show. But there's a few too many episodes where the twist is "everyone was just lying the whole time".

The final episode of the Alfred Hitchcock Hour was directed by William Friedkin, with a script by Robert Bloch (who wrote the novel Psycho). https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0394072/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

"Inside No. 9" is another great example of a current anthology series too. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Bill

I watched the shittily cropped YouTube version

Cole Trickle

Loved the episode with Gene Simmons and all the crazy characters, following a bag of cocaine, when I was a kid. Also, funny to hear you mention the Hitchhikers tight jeans. I will always remember my Mom saying she liked the original Hitchhiker actor, because he had a "great butt".

Daggettus

“Like me”

Jeffrey McMullen

From what I can find this is on Plex but it is labeled as Season 1 episode 24. UPDATE: When I hit play it just says “could not find anywhere to watch this episode” UPDATE 2: There are some shitty quality versions on YouTube.

Trevor Dowdy

Too Scary Didn't Watch is a great pod, they broke down Trap and it sounded absurd, especially the ending. I'm glad I can just listen to them make fun of it and don't have to actually sit through shlock like that

bloodflart

Did anyone ever figure out where to watch The Hitchhiker?

Irvin

man totally forgot about USA network, good go to for weird shit

bloodflart

no but Danny Elfman and big robot naturals are a great combo

bloodflart

Anyone remember the sci-fi Tales From the Crypt spinoff Perversions of Science? Or the end of the opening credits where a robot woman touches her nipple to activate a video screen hidden in her breasts? https://youtu.be/_Gp4u5vR0hk?si=-7piaTF3xq4pjV-s

Berko Pierce

I could listen a full episode of discussion of the terribleness of Trap. So fuckin bizarre. I thought the POV shift to lady raven going to the house was good and tense but then that was only a brief (unsatisfying) piece before the ending got really corny

Robert Peterson

Just caught a Simpsons episode where Homer pretended to be a robot fighter. Edit: Please do the Gerry Butler Phantom for Shadow Wolves or a special Musicalvember. It's actually quite wonderful and works given Schumacher was really gay.
